Charles DAIGNEAU Obituary

Published by Edmonton Journal on Aug. 21, 2012.
DAIGNEAU, Charles Arthur "Chuck"
July 22, 1960 - August 15, 2012
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Charles Daigneau,
on August 15, 2012.
Left to cherish memories of Chuck are his wife of 27 years, Maureen Daigneau; daughters, Brielle (Adrian) Melca, Beth Daigneau (Ryan Manning) and Braelene Daigneau; his mother, Marjorie Daigneau; siblings, Rita (Michael) Dzwiniel, Sylvia (Henry) Zurch, Donna (John) Oman, Monica (Bruce) Gates, Brenda Daigneau, Leona (George) Sellyeh and Trent (Brenda) Daigneau; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, extended family members and many friends who will miss him terribly.
Chuck was predeceased by his father, Charles Alphonse Daigneau in 2009.
Chuck was a loving husband and a wonderful father. He often said "there is nothing I love more, than my four girls." Chuck enjoyed a long and successful career spanning over three decades in the electronic technician industry and for most of those years Chuck was a business owner in partnership with Tom McNair. Chuck's love of life was second to none. If anyone needed "a hand", Chuck was your man. He had trouble taking life easy; resting; delegating – if Chuck wasn't at work, you would find him tending to the "lawns" at our house or at the lake. Enjoying every second of his life, he loved to socialize, play golf or enjoy a back yard fire. Chuck loved our lake property and enjoyed every moment he was there. He was a kind man, with a huge heart; he was caring, generous and humorous. Chuck was taken far too soon and because of this, the world has suffered a tremendous loss.
Chuck, you are loved, you will be missed … you were our Superman.
A Celebration of Charles' Life will be held on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton, AB.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 10985 - 124 Street N.W., Edmonton, Alberta T5M 0H9.

Dear Marjorie, Rita, Sylvia, Donna, Monica, Brenda, Leona & Trent,

It is with profound grief and sadness that I send you my heartfelt condolences on the passing of Charles. The impact he had on those in his life cannot be measured. Whether he touched the lives of family or friends, past or present he will always be remembered for his humour, kindness, love of life and extreme generosity. While he may not be with us here today, his spirit will live on in our souls. He will be missed, but never forgotten.

I just heard about Chuck's passing away f orm one on my colleagues in Edmonton. I had the pleasure wrokgin with Chuck on sevaral proejcts over the past 20+ years and always enjoyed his fun loving character. Chuck was technically very competent, but what i really appreciated was his honesty. Chuck was a true proffessional and could be trusted to live up to his word and never tried to pull on over on me!
He always spoke highly of his family, and the pride and love he had for his girls was obvious!
Our prayers go out to the family. May God comfort you in your loss.

Maureen, Brielle, Beth and Braelene; It's with a heavy heart that I say I'm so sorry for your loss. Chuck was like a Dad to me growing up. He was there for me like a dad and times that's how I introduced him. He always had a smile on his face that was so contagious.
His big, generous heart and love for everyone around him is the Chuck I knew and loved. He'll forever hold a spot in my heart.

Gone, but not forgotten.
All my love!!

Maureen, and Girls,

The only good thing about Chuck;s passing is heaven has welcomed another angel. We remember the first time we met Chuck when he squealed on Dustin for throwing rocks (Dustin being about 3 at the time, so Chuck was really BIG). Dustin came home crying saying this BIG mean man told me to home and tell my Mom & Dad what I had done. We laugh about that a lot. In getting to know Chuck it was the complete opposite of mean. He was probably the most generous man I have ever known. For all the time he gave to his family, the community and especially the nieghbours. His smile was contagious and this is beautiful picture, so full of life! I remember when we would met many a nights by the fire both in spring and winter some times with just a few people and sometimes with the kids, those times will always be remembered. He was a wonderful man and so caring. He may be gone but not forgotten

We were saddened to hear about Chuck. I remember him well from your days in Avonmore and one of the neighborhood families located around the "triangle". I always enjoyed my "over-the-back-fence" talks with Chuck - sometimes his and sometimes ours. He was an important member of the Avonmore Community League - particularly during the winter when he spent so many evenings making sure the rink was in good shape. Our sympathies to you and your daughters.

Maureen, Brielle, Beth, Braelene, it is with a saddened heart that we learned about Chuck, from our entire family we wish to express our condolences and rest in the assurance that he is in a better place and that one day we will see him again. It was over 20 years ago that we were privileged to get to know Chuck both personally and professionally. He always was a joy to be around and had a smile that was contagious. His love for his family always showed through in everything he did and just a few days before his passing we had a laugh that when we meet people he was referred to as one of the girls Dad rather than Mr. Daigneau or Chuck. Our thoughts are with each of you as you mourn the loss of a great man and Father who will be very missed.

With my deepest regrets and the loss of a long time friend that will never be forgotten I am truly sorry such a great man lost his life so soon. My condolences to the family.

August 22, 2012

Dear Maureen, Brielle, Beth and Braelene. I served on the Rycor Condo board with Chuck and my office is accross from his. I got to know him about three years ago. Even though I knew him a short time I can say he was a truly special person. He was full of life. I could see that the most important thing in his life was his girls. He was a very giving person. He gave much more than he took in life. He clearly cared about his family but also the community he lived in. He told many great stories about your family, and his various pursuats including buying a cabin, how much he loved it there, his time as community league President and other things. In our condo complex, he was like a vigilant mother keeping an eye on everyone and the complex to make sure things were running well.

Every morning I came to work, I looked for his truck and took a certain sense of comfort in knowing that he was here (always early). I miss him greatly and keep looking for his truck. I learned of his passing just yesterday. I feel profound sadness at his passing. I share in your grief. We have, all of us, lost a great person in Chuck's passing. May he rest in peace. My prayers are with your family, each of you, as you journey on without him. My prayer is that you will find the peace and strength you need to bear you up in your grief and that you will be reunited with him some day.

From what I knew of him, he would most want you all to carry on in your lives and do well. I hope that your memories of who he was as a person will carry you and that all of the goodness in his life and princpals he taught by example will help you as you move forward and make your life decisions, and in that way that you will have him with you.

My very best to you all.

My sincere condolonces to Maureen, Brielle, Beth, Braelene, the Daigneau family and staff at Associated Communications. Chuck and I always had a lot of fun together and I'll miss him for the rest of my life. Chuck always talked about his four girls and how lucky he was to have the life he had with them. Chuck would have no regrets as he enjoyed life to the fullest and positively impacted many lives.
