I was fortunate to meet and know coach Lefty Driesell. I had two close connections with coach Driesell. The first was Tom McMillen who played at Maryland for our beloved coach, Lefty Driesel, and my second connection who is closest to my heart is my son,. Patrick Michael Noyes, who left this world at age 27, a result of the Oklahoma State basketball plane crash, January 27, 2001. Prior to Oklahoma State, Pat worked with and for coach Driesell at Georgia State. Coach and his wife Joyce treated Pat as a son. He was a frequent t dinner guest at their table, as well as a golfing friend with coach Driesell. I have, and always will be thankful for the wonderful, kind experience extended to my son Pat. Thank you coach, for being the kind man you were and will always be in many people's hearts. May coach Charles Lefty Driesell, Rest In Eternal Peace until we meet again!

Dear Carolyn and the Driesell family,
I am so sorry for your loss and send my condolences. Your father touched everyone that knew him. I knew him as a young child growing up next door on Borges Avenue. He was funny and larger than life and he and your mother welcomed every kid in the neighborhood into their home with warmth and kindness. I cherish my memories of him and your family.

God bless the man that helped get me through my younger days in South Carolina. Being a Terrapin fan at the time in Gamecock country was not received very well. He was a great coach, motivator, recruiter and a man that had a passion for his players and the sport. Prayers to his family! He WILL be missed! GODS SPEED COACH.
