Charles Englehart Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 7, 2025.
Charles (Chuck) E. Englehart, 67, most happily of Winter Haven, FL, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, in Annapolis, MD with his children. Chuck was born in 1957 to loving parents, Charlie and Mary (Leary) Englehart in Massachusetts. He spent his childhood in Suitland, MD, where he was raised with his sisters, Kathy Reardon and Susan Englehart. While baseball was the center of his adolescent world, playing at Bishop McNamara High School and St. Mary's College of MD, golf became the passion of his adult life soaking up time on the green whenever he could. Throughout his life, he called Maryland, Virginia, and beautiful sunny Florida his home.

Whether he was on the links, at the bar, or in your home, he was always focused on the moment, kept things light and funny, and found joy in making someone else's experience better. Chuck is described by his family and friends as trustworthy, respectable, generous, an aficionado, sports-fanatic, conversationalist, and hero. He knows how to have a good time and is definitely one-of-a-kind.

Chuck/Dad/Grandpa is immensely loved and will be greatly missed by his children; his son Chuck Englehart and daughter-in-law Shannon; his daughter Annette Parks and son-in-law Matt; and grandchildren; Charles, Elise, Henry, Annie, Maeve, and Alexander.

Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Our Lady of the Fields Roman Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave S, Millersville, MD 21108. A visitation with the family will be held at the church starting at 10:30 a.m. with Words of Remembrance at 11:25 a.m., and Mass to follow at 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chuck's name to Elizabeth Seton High School, 5715 Emerson St, Bladensburg, MD 20710, or DeMatha Catholic High School, 4313 Madison St, Hyattsville, MD 20781.

Chuck was a good friend and I'll always remember the days we spent at St. Mary's College and the great times we had playing baseball for the college. So many fond memories. He will be missed by anyone lucky enough to know and spend time with him.
