Charles R. Everhart

Charles R. Everhart, 91, widower of Alice I. (Keehn) Everhart of Manatawny Road, Earl Township, Berks County, PA died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 in the Reading Hospital, West Reading, PA.. Born in Birdsboro he was the son of the late Alice W. (Kurtz) and Howard J. Everhart. He was a carpenter for Warren B. Zern of Pottstown. Charles served in the Army during WWII serving at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Amityville, PA. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and an accomplished carpenter. Charles is survived by two sons, Charles D., husband of Nancy Everhart and Howard R., husband of Lora Everhart both of Earlville; three sisters, Hazel, widow of Samuel Keen of Geigertown, PA, Mary Ellen, widow of Howard Messner of Birdsboro, PA and Thelma, wife of Heber Griffith of Mohnton, PA; three grandchildren, Tara Everhart, Chad Everhart and Jonathan Everhart; six great-grandchildren, Becca Conrad, Owen Conrad, Nathan Conrad, Cooper Everhart, Emily Everhart and
Cara Everhart. He was predeceased by two brothers, Raymond and William Everhart. Funeral services are Monday, June 28, 2010 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 1312 Old Swede Road, Douglassville, PA. Pastor Steven Simpson will officiate. A viewing will be between 10 - 11 a.m. Monday at the church.. Burial will be in St. Paul's (New) Cemetery, Amityville, PA.
