Charles Fauls

Charles Francis Fauls, 72, of Port Townsend, WA passed away suddenly from a heart attack on April 8, 2025. Born on January 8, 1953, Charles dedicated his life to service, both in the military and in his community.

Charles proudly served in the United States Navy, as a Machinist Mate, from 1971 to 1975. His military career took him to various parts of the world, including tours in Vietnam, where he earned numerous commendations for his service. His commitment to his country and fellow veterans in need, was unwavering, and he was a source of inspiration to all who knew him.

Following his military service, Charles continued to serve his community with the Port of Port Townsend where he worked for many years until his passing. Known for his dedication, fairness, and compassion, he left a lasting impact on those he served and worked alongside.

Charles enjoyed Painting, Sailing, cruising on his Harley and sharing his stories and humor, with family, friends and strangers alike. Charles lived an extraordinary life filled with adventure, laughter, and love.

Charles is survived by his wife Nancy; his son, Matthew; his granddaughter, Beatrice; his sisters, Margaret and Catherine; his brother Frank; numerous extended family members and of course his "Best Buddy" Captain Jack. His legacy of service, love, and dedication will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

At Charles' request there will be no funeral service, and he will be laid to rest in a private inurnment service at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington Virginia. With the generous support of American Legion Post 26, (2)Celebrations of Life will be held in Port Townsend.

The first will be held on Memorial Day May 26th

The second will be in conjunction with "The Wall That Heals" display which will be held from September 11th to the 14th at the Jefferson County Airport.

This event was particularly important to Charles and as Post 26 Commander Wyatt Ranson USMC shared with me; "Chuck had an unforgettable presence among us whether we were having a meeting or out on a motorcycle ride. He was extremely instrumental in helping us bring The Vietnam Memorial Wall, The Wall That Heals to Port Townsend."
