I saw Chuck at Walmart last year from his backside. I could tell from his gait that it was him. He recognized me immediately as one of his schoolmates' ('lil sis). We reminisced with great giggles and fondness. He was truly a quiet soul, full of diversity and joy for our Lord. I thoroughly enjoyed his singing and guitar playing. (I found out today of his death. I’m sorry I just now saw this, six months late. Chuck was a friend of mine since the 1st grade at Ben Franklin. I do wish I’d heard of his passing for I would have attended his funeral. For me to do that would’ve been rare. Chuck was always gracious, no matter the situation. He was genuinely a good soul. We spoke frequently and I will miss him. He called me once about his cousin, Tom Foley of Mississippi and Tom’s passing. I was grateful he did, Tom and were best friends for years. Chuck was like that. He had a conscious mind and was usually way ahead of anyone else. He will be missed. God bless him.

Chuck was one of the kindest people I know. We were both Young Life leaders and became friends. His quiet spirit made the things he shared even more important. I’ve been blessed by his friendship and look forward to seeing him again. Many prayers for his family.

Chuck, I am so glad I got to see you again at our 50th reunion. You, Randy Crenshaw, and I spoke about the good times growing up around the same neighbor hood in our early years. Barrett Place was our stomping grounds. Your mother was so graceful and thoughtful when my Dad passed in 1987 to come see us. My prayers and thoughts go out to your mother and family. Thank you for being my friend all these years. You were always kind to me every time we did cross paths. I will miss you greatly, but I know I will see you again.

I am so sorry to learn about Chuck's passing. I first knew him as one of the kids who lived right next to us in our childhood neighborhood of Brook Village. We Wilson kids thought the Foley kids were so cool. His mom, Shirley, hauled Chuck and his siblings around in a VW Mini-bus. I lost contact with Chuck for many years, then was fortunate to get re-acquainted with him at Grace Church, where he was a faithful member of the worship team. The last time I spoke to him was several months ago when I was picking up a to-go order at Willie's Burgers and I had the opportunity to ask him about his mom. I'm so sorry for this sudden loss. My heart goes out to Shirley, Mark, Jean, and the rest of the family.

I was so sad when I heard of Chuck´s death. My heart aches for his mother, family and friends. While Chuck and I knew eachother, we didn´t spend a lot of time together. It was mostly when I was invited for lunch after church by my daughter and son in law. Chuck was a good friend of their´s. It was during these lunches I got to know him. The thing that has always come to mind when I thought of Chuck or left his company was "his waters run deep." It says a lot about a man who can humbly leave a gentle but powerful impression on someone over a few lunches and occasional visits in passing. Chuck, you have left us many lovely, thoughtful, and humorous memories of you. Thank you for all the memories you´ve blessed us with. May they be a comforting treasure for your family and friends.

Blessed brother in Christ. Always cherished and dear when seen out and about, knowing him as described in this obituary; devout, gentle, intelligent, and fun living and fun loving. I join all in their grief as well as anticipation of seeing him again, per God's promise and Chuck's covenant with God in Christ.

Chuck was such a gifted individual! We had the pleasure of doing Young Life ministry with Chuck as well as enjoyed time with him at Grace Church. He was always so faithful in helping to lead music for whatever ministry need was present. One of my favorite memories of Chuck was a Christmas Eve many years ago back at the old Grace Church building. It was the first time we had a candlelight service and no one knew how many people to expect on Christmas Eve. The church was overwhelmed with the number of people and ran out of candles for everyone. Candles were grabbed from everywhere in the church. Chuck sat beside us and his candle was (no kidding) a 10" tall x 3" wide candle. I always think about him now on Christmas Eve when we light candles. His smile and sweet presence will be missed.

Chuck's sudden passing has reminded me again that we have a home in eternity with our Father, and it is closer than we think. Chuck was as steady as a rock and as kind as anyone I've ever met. He always had an interesting view point on most any subject, especially music, instruments, and songs. Never without his Ipad, he was always willing to share a beautiful nature photograph he took in New Mexico or Colorado. He was gifted in so many ways. He was a friend that will be missed until we unite again.

Chuck was such a kind soul. Always greeting you with the warmest smile. I loved hearing him play on Sundays, especially the mandolin. I had known Chuck since the time I grew up at First Baptist. I loved he and his family and he would always catch me up on how everyone was doing. He will be missed! But now he is in an amazing place in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, meeting all the ancestors he had studied about, and catching up with his father Bob and his brother Peter. Please know Jim and I will be praying for your entire family during this time of unexpected loss. And may we all be reunited soon as we watch and hope for His blessed return!
Love,

As a newcomer to Wichita Falls I met Chuck through cycling. The thing I first noticed about him was that he always wore the coolest eyeglasses. The second thing I noticed about Chuck was his ability to make others instantly feel like a longtime friend. He had an uncanny ability in making others feel important through his acts of kindness and service. He was a master of dry wit and he loved to share the gift of humor. I can confirm that the hardest I have ever laughed at anything in my life was when Chuck shared a VHS tape of a certain public figure with some overdub sound effects. We were both laughing so hard we had tears coming down our faces. A lot of people want to think of themselves as being a servant but Chuck was the real deal, he embodied servanthood. His quiet spirit spoke volumes. Funny how those quiet types can have the biggest impact on others. His commitment to Christ is exemplary of a faithful life well lived. I'm a beneficiary of Chuck's friendship.

Chuck was among the most interesting and generous men I’ve ever known. I’ll miss making music with him and hearing his genuine excitement over some new artist or gizmo he’d discovered since we last spoke.
