Charlie Goldberg was a warm, bright, funny and compassionate friend. I am fortunate to have known him.

Charlie Goldberg was a great lawyer, and he was a southern gentleman of the highest order. A man of compassion, and a man of integrity. He will be missed by his peer, many friends, and family.

Harriett, I am so sorry to read of Charlie's passing. It was approximately 56 years ago that I started my first job with Charlie. He was such a gentleman to me always, and it was my privilege to have a long-lasting friendship with this special man. My sincere condolences to you and your family.

I did not know Mr. Golberg, but if his character and personality are reflected by his sons and the people he worked with, then he was no doubt a very fine individual. My sympathies go out to his family during this time, and may they find comfort in the recollection of Mr. Goldberg's life.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of one of the finest and most decent gentlemen and lawyers ever to grace Broad Street. It is unlikely that our society and bar will ever again have the pleasure of the company of such a good man. He may be one of the few lawyers in heaven. Well done, Charlie, my friend.

I am so thankful for the love and friendship from Charlie and Harriett from my years in Charleston through adulthood. The world lost a true gentleman in Charlie. The thoughts and prayers of all of us go out to Harriett, Steven, and Michael. We love you, Harriett.

We were in many cases together. I learned a great deal from him when I practiced law and from the bench. He was special. He was kind and loved by all who had the good fortunate of knowing him. He will be missed but he taught us younger lawyers a great deal by his actions, pleasant manner, and good deeds. All the probate court staff were always glad to see him because he was so kind. He was a true gentleman. We will try to be like him. We are sorry for your loss. We will miss him too.

Dearest Harriet, We are so sad to learn of Charlie's death. We will always remember the happy times with you both. I especially loved London with you on Portabello Road. It was freezing cold and I can see Charlie wearing Laura's leather bomber jacket with the patches all over it and he was still cold but as always smiling and laughing. That was the Christmas tournament in 87/89 for the team Trey was on at College of Charleston. Charlie was always happy and such a gentleman.

Charlie was the consummate gentleman and a lion of the Charleston County Bar. I treasure our friendship.

We have lost a true gentleman, excellent attorney and an all around great person. As an employee with Charleston County I worked with him in years past while employed with Judge Louis Condon and more recently in the Register of Deeds Office. My sincere heartfelt condolences.
