Charles taught Physics courses to Radiology students and was on the selection team when I interviewed for the
l st Director of the educational program in Radiologic Technology. Charles was always helpful and challenging to our students. Our families and other families would get together for canoe float trips on the White river in the summer for a wonderful memorable time. We took a 10ft X 12 ft X 40 ft long duct down together from the Science building , zero level. It made a very dramatic crash when it hit the floor 15 feet below. Charles was both a mentor and friend, thank you for the adventure.

I worked for and alongside Chuck about 1978 to 1985 at Mr. Adam's machine shop. He was making stainless steel coinboxes for car washes and working on various bits for his airplanes while teaching everything from remedial math to calculus. Chuck was very understanding of people, provided opportunities and instruction. Chuck stopped whatever he was doing to shed light on any problem we had. Chuck was part of a wonderful time.

I was so sad to hear of Charles' passing, while also feeling appreciative of our friendship.
I had my first acquaintance with Charles from 2002-2013, when we taught together at MCC-Penn Valley. He was rather a legend, as he had worked at MCC for many years, in many different capacities. Over time we began to enjoy a friendship and camaraderie based on our common love of MCC, teaching, learning and aviation.
During one of our many talks, Charles noticed a small model of a TWA Constellation on my office windowsill, and he waxed poetic about the aircraft, as many aviators do. This sealed our bond and gave us many opportunities to discuss Charles' history of flying and building planes, as well as my memories of my father's long career with TWA.
After Charles' injury, I was continually inspired by his courage and stamina, his dedication to his students and his craft, and by his strong family support in this new challenging phase. Whenever we set out to arrange for appropriate accommodations and tools for him to use in his classroom, he preempted our efforts by designing and building his own modifications.
The memory of Charles Gosselin will remain strong at Metropolitan Community College. He was an educator and administrator devoted to students, to science and to creativity. He will be missed. Blessings to his devoted family.

Charles and I worked together at Midwest Research Institute for several years before each of us found our way to the Metropolitan Community College system. We shared many enjoyable experiences, including judging in the National Science Foundation Engineering Fairs. Charles was always a pleasure to be with. He loved flying, family, friends and especially enjoyed teaching. A major part of his legacy is the positive influence he was in the lives of the untold numbers of students and associates.

I can't imagine St. Elizabeth without Chuck. He was such a patient, kind and funny mentor for everyone who was blessed to know him. He was one of a kind for sure.

I loved and admired Charles. He knew more about more things than anyone I ever knew - I called him Google.Charles! I worked with Charles for 20 years at Rockhurst University - as partners we conducted physics teacher workshops where Charles would "wow" all the teachers as he taught them. Charles and I also worked together on an NSF grant developing Physics of Medicine curriculum - he invented, designed and built specialized equipment that wasn't even on the market, all the while teaching and explaining things to me as I wrote the curriculum. It was a wonderful grant partnership and I enjoyed every minute of working with him and learning from him. On top of all his physics/teaching/curiosity skills, Charles was one of the kindest, most helpful people I have ever known. He always made time to help, often saying when asked if he had time, "I'll make time." I feel the world has a hole in it now without Charles here, but I hope he is now flying and smiling - knowing how much he was loved and respected in this world.

Our memories of Chuck cover the wonderful years of Indian guides and multiple sport leagues. He was a model for all what all young men need to strive for; he was smart, funny, moral, a leader, generous with his time and could fix anything. He set a high bar for young people to pursue. We were blessed to know him and be called a friend. Our best wishes and prayers to his family.

Charles was a jolly Mr. Wizard at the Penn Valley campus. Charles was our first director of distance education and he and Mitch built our television studio from scratch. I never knew him say a mean thing about anyone, even if they deserved it. God bless you, Charles!

Our longtime friendship with Chuck blessed our lives with many wonderful experiences. These included marveling at his Scientific knowledge, being impressed with his Theological views, and having endless fun on Canoe excursions. Our Parish Community was also blessed with Chuck's presence in the many organizations he was a part of. Stewardship and Service were Chuck's gifts to everyone he met. We send our Love and Prayers to all of his family as you navigate through these next few weeks.

I worked with Charles for several years at Penn Valley, and I feel blessed to have known him. His enthusiasm for Physics and for teaching was matched by his patience in working with anyone who wanted to learn. He has been dearly missed here on campus already and he will be fondly remembered and held up as an example of the right way to do things for years to come.

Growing up next door to the Gosselin family made for a interesting, fun and eventful childhood. I always remember Mr. Gosselin tinkering with something in his garage( I could never understand how he could get all those tools and a boat in that little garage) but he always keeping tabs on all us kids out playing.
He was always there to teach us something, break up a spat ( Usually between my brother Tim and Mary), put out a fire ( literally!), and even join us (usually the referee) in a snowball fight, sledding or game of street kickball.
Although I never had the chance to tell him, Mr. Gosselin was a major reason I decided to stay in and make the Navy a career.
Great man and a great neighbor!
My thoughts and prayers go out to the Gosselin and Walters families!

I took Physical Science with Charles at Longview then I worked with him in the Science Division at Penn Valley. He was such a positive, energetic teacher & I loved that it was so clear he deeply cared and wanted you to learn and love Physics like he did. I was blessed to know him. My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.
