Charles E. Griggs, 68, of Gulfport died January 9, 2009.
Mr. Griggs was an active member of First Missionary Baptist Church Handsboro. He was a devoted member of the NAACP, he was instrumental in the development of the Boys and Girls Club, and helped assist with voter registration.
His memory will always be in the hearts of his loving wife Elizabeth Griggs; three children, Michelle Keller of Georgia, Cardale Keller of Virginia, and Charlette Choice of Texas.
Visitation: 10-11 a.m., Saturday January 17, 2009 at First Missionary Baptist Church, service will follow at 11 a.m., 1100 E. Pass Rd.
Interment: Monroe Memorial Park, Canal Rd., Gulfport, MS.
House of Richmond in Biloxi is in charge of the arrangements.

I am deeply sadden to hear of your loss. I meet Mr Griggs, years ago when I worked for Alltel. He was a very kind and funny man.

My heart goes out to you in your time of grief. I remember Charlie from Casino Magic in Biloxi. He was a very nice person. He was always smiling. May GOD be with everyone whose life he was a part of every day.
