I have been trying several years searching for you and was very sad to eventually found this page. I missed Charles, my spiritual father, and your family a lot. How I want so much to show him my family and let him proud that my three children has grown in Christ all because his love and care for me many years ago. I missed every morning he waked me up earlier in the morning to study the bible when I was senior in high school. Even now I can still remember Wednesday night that you played piano and we sang hymns together. There''s a lot that I want to say to Charles but now I have to wait till one day that we reunion in the heaven.
Love you!

Phyllis, I just came across this webpage and remembered the memories from Sumter. Charlie and I "butted heads", but I appreciate his patience with me. I remember when Melanie was born and even babysitted her. I pray for your family and am thankful for all you both disciple over the years. Don Gillman

Phyllis, Melanie & Ruth - my heart goes out to you all! Charlie was my mentor/discipler back in 1969 - when you all were with the Navigators at the Air Force Base in Laredo Texas. I will always remember his unwavering love for Christ and this unquenchable fire in him - that all should get to meet and get to know Christ. I will also remember that big smile, his loving way and his himility.

Dear Hardie Family,

I fondly remember the Hardie family, especially the time when I stayed over with Charles and Phyllis in Taichung for a couple days when my parents were traveling. Phyllis fussed over me and made wonderful snacks during my stay. Charlie helped me with my homework and we talked spirituality 101. I will always cherish the memories of "Uncle Charlie" and celebrate his life and memory.

Really, this is the beginning of a new life for him, or as my Dad would say - his promotion came through! He lived his purpose with commitment and happiness, and spread so much joy during his lifetime. I am honored to have known him.

Please accept my condolences, but condolences mixed with celebration of a wonderful man and the divine legacy he left to so many.

Love to you all,

Linda Phillips

Phyllis and girls, We are thinking of you so much during these days, and praying for your divine comfort in your grief. It is hard to have a family member go, but so consoling to know they are enroute HOME.

Please know that we love each of you and pray for you as you work out all the details of this loss. We know your future is in the Lord's hands.

Best wishes to all of you, Laquita and Wendell Powers
