Charles Frederick Helwig

Charlie was a good neighbor and friend. He was kind to all and loved animals - our dog Daisy misses Charlie on her walks because he always stopped to give her lots of pets! Charlie - you will be missed. May you Rest In Peace

I was in the advanced training helicopter class with Charlie at Ft. Eustis. To get off the post on weekends, 3, or 4 of us would jump in my car and see Virginia. Charlie was a regular, along with Jim Neumeier, and Terry Clark. After deployments, we never saw each other again. And then, a few years ago, Charlie found me. Ever since we kept in touch by phone. Charlie was a true friend--Bill Burt.

I´m so sad to hear of Charlie´s passing. I feel privileged to have met him, and will miss our frequent texts.
