Charles Hess

This is news I did not want to hear! Dr. Hess was my doctor in 1987 and helped cure my cancer and him and God is the only reason I am here today! He was a wonderful doctor and person! He will be greatly and sadly missed !!! My thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this time !!

What an honor to have worked with such a smart, dedicated, and humorous man. He had a true southern gentle soul and a head full of knowledge which he shared with all at UVA; colleagues, patients, students, anyone he had a conversation with. He will be missed and always loved by those who knew him. His legacy will be a thought that occurs in somebody's head every day, as he touched many lives in many different ways. We were all privileged to know him.

Dr Hess , I did not know well but I enjoyed knowing Barry and Philip . Many people talked about their father as a wonderful man. I know he will be missed. God hears the prayers of His children and I pray peace to Barry, Ceclia and their children also the others family listed.

Ii was so sorry to read this sad news. I remember Dr. Hess so well. My father, Dr. Julian Beckwith, and he were great friends. My Dad spoke so often and fondly of "Charlie Hess". I, myself, worked on the Hematology-Oncology floor with Dr. Hess at UVA. He was an amazing physician and a wonderful man. I know that he will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to his dear family
