Charlie:
It seems like I have been searching for you for 25 years as we lost contact when we stopped living together on the farm outside Auburn. After searching for your location intermittently much of my adult life, I now find that you passed away in 2010. You were a great roommate and a wonderful friend! I most remember us consoling each other when lost our other friend and roommate, Bob Edwards, as he was killed in an MVA while driving home to New York during spring break. Life certainly has it's trauma and tragedy but I will always remember your smile, your friendship and being a great colleague. God bless you always!

Charlie was everybody's hero when I was growing up. And not just because the Hills were the best looking family to ever hang around Vestavia Country Club. It's because every one of them was imbued with kindness, incredible personality and the sort of character that are impossible to forget. Charlie exemplified it all.
My sincerest sympathy to everyone.
And special love to Ginger.

I want to express my deepest sympathy to the Hill family. May God comfort you as only HE can.
I first met Charlie in the Winter of 1989 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming after my wife and I began attending the same church with Charlie. All the memories come flooding back of those days. I was struggling with my dream of running an outfitting business in the most beautiful place on earth. I think Charlie understood that dream. Charlie had the chance to share in what it was like to ride the "high, wide and lonesome", and I found a good freind along with a good hired hand.
Through the years we knew each other we shared the tough and the good times with a mutual respect and a shared trust in Jesus Christ. You wouldn't think two guys who had been raised in such different places could have so much in common, but for some reason there was always an easy familiarity to our friendship that I'll always treasure.
Charlie is free now from the struggles in life that he faced. I am one of those people who had the privilege of knowing what it was like to pray together with Charlie and the other guys at mens prayer meeting in that small church in Jackson Hole. It will always be a part of my life that stands out. I know I'll see him again because Charlie belongs to his Savior.
It's only so long, not good bye my friend!

Charlie was the coolest, friendliest, and most handsome guy I've ever known. We were in the same class at Shades Valley and I too was fortunate to meet up with him again at our last high school reunion. Phi Alpha, Charlie. Memory Eternal.

I knew Charlie for 30-years. I met him in NYC during his acting days. We shared many interests but especially shared our relationship with the Lord. He was always on my mind and in my prayers. Though we had not seen each other in years a phone call brought it all right back, the years melted away and we were brothers again planing and dreaming of better times. I will miss him but know that someday I will see him again in Heaven. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this time but we know that Charlie is safe and he is Home.

I knew Charlie for 30-years. I met him in early 1980 in NYC during his acting days. We shared many interests but especially shared our relationship with the Lord. He was always on my mind and in my prayers. Though we had not seen each other in years a phone call brought it all right back, the years melted away and we were brothers again planing and dreaming of better times. My heart is sore today and I will miss him but know that someday I will see him again in Heaven. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this time but we know that Charlie is safe and he is Home.

Though I have not seen Charlie since college days, my memories of him remain fresh and clear: playing touch football, studying for psychology tests, going to fraternity events. He was a compelling, vibrant personality, full of humor and joy. My prayers go out to his family for their peace in this sad time.

I will always remember Charlie as a warm, sensitive man, struggling like the rest of us in his SAE pledge class to make sense of the world and our place in it. I have not seen him since after our graduation from Southern when I ran into him at Auburn. Yet I have often thought of him in these last few years as someone with whom I hope to reconnect after all these years.

Mrs. Hill, Greg and all his family, Charlie will be missed by many. My sympathies are with you.

I knew Charlie from high school and church. He was a friend to many, and, among his talents, he was strong in high school gymnastics. I felt fortunate to know him, and to see him at the 45th reunion. My sympanthy and well wishes to his family.

My heart goes out to the Hill family. I hope that you are somehow comforted by the many accomplishments, the many lives he touched, and the memories that 'Charlie' created during his lifetime. Reading the many touching comments that people felt compelled to write about him is overwhelming. There is no doubt in my mind that he is in Heaven free of the struggles here on earth, anticipating the arrival of his many loved ones.

I worked with Charlie at KMTN in Jackson Hole in the early 90's and enjoyed his understated sense of humor, his humility, and his kind spirit. He was a gentleman and I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Jeanne Jackson-Heim (Eagle, Idaho)

I went to high school with Charlie and then we were neighbors in Auburn. He was the first babysitter my son, Critter, had! We met up again in Atlanta when he was acting. I then lost track of him. He was such a good friend when I needed a friend. He will be missed by so many.

Charlie and I were roommates and wonderful friends in the 1980s when we both emigrated from Bham to NYC. I adored him and since losing track of him some 25 years ago, have searched for him every way I knew how. His picture still sits on my dining room mantle. My heart is broken.

Charlie never seemed to meet a stranger. His love for family and people was apparent. May the peace of God rule in your hearts, as you celebrate his life and mourn your loss. Love in Christ,
