These last few days the rain has reminded me of the time Charles and I played golf in Washington, D.C. in 1963 or 1964. Fond memories.

Chuck and I met when we both worked at Lockheed Sunnyvale in the early 1960s. Our group was transferred to Washington, D.C. in 1963. I remember a time when Chuck and I were playing golf and it started to rain cats and dogs. The course quickly became abandoned. We decided playing on an empty golf course in the rain was better than a crowded course on a clear day, and finished the game in the rain. I also remember his distinctive Hmmmm and the way he laughed. Sorry I lost track of you Chuck.

I met Charles while working at IBM. He retired before I really got to know him. I was impressed by his warmth and knew right away that he had an exceptional personality. He will be greatly missed.
