Warm memories of fireside Christmas eve carol singing - around the piano with neighbours of all ages.
A wonderful person to have known.

I first met Charlie in 1982 at he Council on Aging. He was known as a pioneer for the development of neighbourhood-based community supports for seniors, and had been instrumental in developing Ottawa West Seniors' Support, which still flourishes. Our friendship and involvement grew from there. I was on staff at the COA, but later we were both volunteers at the Glebe Centre, at different times, but our paths crossed. We also have a cottage on Lake Bernard!
Charlie was a very competent man, who gave of himself with caring and humour, always considerate of the needs of others, both personal and throughout the community. He was a role model, an advocate and a mentor.
I send most sincere sympathy to all the family.

Sorry to hear about Charlie, Jock. I will always remember him as a big man with a big smile and a big heart who always looked out for the kids on the block.

Sincere sympathy to Charlie's family. It seems so long ago since Charlie was a member of the choir at Parkdale in the late l950's and early 1960's as was I.

Well remembered Uncle Charlie and Aunt Freda. My sorrow to family and friends. A full legacy of experiences with memories abound; your life was full. I'm proud to have you in my family.
