Charles Jaffee Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 20, 2024.
Born to Laura and Alfred Jaffee. Chuck was a resident of Nevada County for over 20 years. He leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Marvina L. Jaffee. He nurtured and raised 3 step children; Julie, Cathy, and Kirk. He also enjoyed his two grandchildren; Nicholas and Jonathan. He was a loving brother to Jeff and Joanne and brother-in-law to Donna and Godfrey. He leaves behind many close lifetime friends from across the country. Chuck was very intelligent and attended the Wharton School of Business at University of Pennsylvania. He retired after many years at Hewlett Packard. He was a true poet, author, and major film critic, and was part of Wild and Scenic Film Festival for many years. He had a passion for hiking, biking, tennis, waterfalls, and cooking. He enjoyed eating so much that he referred to himself as a "quant-atarian". Chuck loved to travel and rode his bike across multiple countries. Chuck was very loyal, giving to all around him. During his long cancer journey, he never complained and maintained a positive attitude.

Celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Nevada City Food Bank and Rocky Mountain Institute, both organizations Chuck felt strongly about and contributed to greatly throughout his life.

Chuck was a treasured colleague and friend. We stayed connected over the last 40 years through our shared love of cycling, writing and of course, the Camp Chuck Newsletter. He will be remembered fondly and remain a treasured memory of my HP career.
