Firstly, My apologies for not sending my condolences earlier; I have only just been informed of Dr. Leblond's death. Had I known earlier, I most certainly would have paid my respects to the family.
At the time of my father's death, he showed great compassion to me and my family. He had the great kindness to offer a mass in my father's name.
He is a human being who I would have liked to know better. My sincere sympathy and I wish all the family courage in a very difficult time. Please let me know Dr. Leblond had a favorite charity so I can make a donation in his name.
Once again, on behalf of the Yampolsky Family, our most sincere sympathies

Dr. CP Leblond was my mentor during my three-year stay at McGill University. I have admired him as a great teacher and a brilliant scientist, who had devoted his life to search for knowledge and understanding of life-related phenomena. He had published many classic works and has left memorable legacy in the history of life science. In my Christmas card of December 2006, I mentioned to him that many of his previous students had already retired as Professors Emeriti, but he was still working as Full Professor according to the McGill University website. He wrote me back and stated that he was "getting old but still doing some research on first stage of bone growth at the Shriner's Hospital". Amazing, research never ceased until his death. My sincere condolences to the family of Dr. CP Leblond.

“Dynamic” and “purple” are synonymous with “Leblond” in my psyche. Dr. Leblond was my mentor in science. I am very sorry about his passing but I take solace in the knowledge that he will live on through his many classic works. I will never forget the kindness and concern he and Mrs. Leblond showed me when I was his student at McGill. My condolences to his loving family.

From the first of his published papers that I read as a student to the last seminar he attended, Charles always had important things to say. He is truly a role model for academic researchers and teachers around the world. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Dr C.P Leblond will remain as a legacy in Biomedical sciences for many present and future generation of Scientists. He has been an ideal role model in my own professional life since 1968 when he recruited me on his staff and even after my leaving Mcgill in 1983 to join the University Of Western Ontario. I have been fortunte to continuously maintain a loving and enjoyable personal relationship with him and also his loving wives Gertrude and Odette. Even as late as last November, durnig my last visit to him in Montreal, he amazed me with his sharp mind and humor. I wanted very much to pay my last respect to him in person, which did not materialise because of my currently being at Los Angeles for a Cancer Research meeting. I wish to convey deep condolences and sympathy from myself and my wife Shipra to his loving family and pray that their great loss is replaced with many happy memories of his long and very productive life time. May his soul live in peace.

Charles Leblond invited us to McGill from England, thereby setting the course of the rest of our lives. He and Gertrude greeted our family graciously and warmly and remained most supportive throughout the years. He set a superb example of passionate dedication to biomedical research and the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of academic life. It was, indeed, a priviledge to know him. We send condolences to the family. We will miss him, too.

Dr. Leblond was my teacher, and more recently my neighbour. He was a legendary educator and scientist, but I also came to know him in the last few years as a kind and thoughtful person. He was the consummate gentleman and scholar, and it has been a privilege to know him.

Dr. Leblond was amazing: never tired of learning and always in pursuit of new knowledge. The MTV generation of scientists and their mentors could learn a lot reading some of his classical papers on cell population kinetics, glycoprotein packaging and glial cells.
