Back in the 1990's Charles stayed at my place on Long Island in a camper in the backyard. In the mornings he would fling open the door of the camper and sing , Oh What a Beautiful Morning", to which I would join in and we would finish off our song and I would go back in my rental home and he would go back into the camper. I met Carlo in the 1970's when I moved out to the
East end of Long Island. We both attended Church services at Pastor Frank Dupree's home in Laurel, New York. We remained friends up to the time he moved to Canada. During the time from 1975-1999 I joined the North Fork Theater Group in Mattituck, NY. Carlo and I both tried out for parts in various plays. Carlo was indeed a one of a kind individual and had a vast library at his place in the woods in Southold, NY. I willl miss him and his excentric ways. Love you Brother!!!

In the first half of his life, Mr. Lewis developed a systematic method for teaching juggling, and published (as Carlo Ludovico) the seminal "Juggling Book" (Vintage Press, 1974). Nearly 50 years later, it's still regarded as a classic. In person and by text, Charles Lewis taught myriads to juggle; many went on to teach others. Mr. Lewis's work brought - and continues to bring - joy, delight and satisfaction to jugglers and their audiences all over the world.
