Charles Lindquist Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 13 to May 14, 2023.
Charles Dennis Lindquist, age 71, of Coconut Creek, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 9th, 2023. Charles was born September 28th, 1951 in Kirksville, Missouri to the late Catherine Elizabeth and Charles Muriel Lindquist. He grew up on a farm in Missouri with three sisters, Deborah Lindquist, Kay Brooke (deceased) and Sharon Schlapia.

Charles graduated from the University of Missouri in Rolla with a degree in computer science. He would later share his passion for technology with students as an instructor at Mercer County College, NJ Institute of Technology, and an Annandale correctional facility while building his career as a software engineer, vice president, and ultimately creating his own independent contracting business. He made substantial software contributions in the aircraft weapon systems and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries.

Charles enjoyed serving the community as President of the East Windsor NJ Board of Education and on the Board of Directors at a local YMCA. Charles' love of boating, scuba diving and cruising brought him to Florida for retirement where he continued his community service as an active member of the Wynmoor condo association and co-founder of the Live Love Laugh Moor club where he had the time of his life with his wife and friends. Charles was an intelligent, generous, and hilariously sarcastic gentleman and will be deeply missed by so many. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Maxine; their three children Julie Askew, Alysse Resh, and Debra Carroll and eight adored grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held at the Wynmoor community ballroom on Tuesday, May 30 from 1-4 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude, Organization for Autism Research, or American Cancer Society for lymphoma research.
