Charles Barry Lucado

Charles Barry Lucado, 79, of Taylors, SC passed away peacefully on December 20th, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital following several years of illness. He was born in Georgia on August 2nd, 1944, to the Rev. Charles Henry and Beverly Goff Lucado. Charles was a proud alumnus of the University of South Carolina and a veteran of the U.S. Army. In 1968, he married Carolyn Whisnant, and the couple were united for fifty-five years with two children produced from their union. An avid fan of sports, Charles cheered for the South Carolina Gamecocks and refereed baseball and basketball. For many years, he was employed by Greenville County as an accountant. He dearly loved his family, and they loved him alike in return. Surviving him are his son Dwight and his daughter Dawn, both of Greenville. Also surviving him are six grandchildren and a great granddaughter. A memorial service will be conducted on January 19th at 3:00 P.M. at Taylors First Baptist Church.
