I'm so sorry to learn of Fr. Martin's passing. He was a remarkable man beloved by all at All Saint's while I was growing up in Penn Hills in the 60's -70's. My father, who himself was the son of an Episcopalian priest, may have given him the highest compliment he ever gave to another man when he said, "he reminds me in so many ways of my father." He made trips back from Johnstown to Penn Hills to officiate at my wedding 39 years ago as well as at my parents' funerals. (My husband and I often think of him, and for some reason, tonight I thought about him and decided to look him up online.) Our deepest sympathies to his family. May he rest in peace.

Such a great person to have in our lives. Many good memories of Calvary church and Calvary camp sheananaghans and we all cared about each other so much. It seemed as he was always a part of our lives. He had a special friendship with my brother Don and was always at so many family gatherings. He will be missed by many. Thank the Lord for letting us share many great memories Blessings to all his family and may your memories keep you ever close

Fr. Martin was one of a kind! He taught me how to take the Faith seriously but not myself, and he set an example of what effective ministry rooted in authentic humanity really looks like. He was my pastor, priest, mentor, and friend and he will be sorely missed. Our loss is heaven's gain... "Well done, good and faithful servant!"

To the family of Rev. Martin:
I did not have the honor of knowing your father/grandfather. I do, however, consider his daughter Sue to be one of my best friends. I was especially moved by the line "be always thankful, and stand for what we believe, yet not take ourselves too seriously" - as that is exactly how I would describe his daughter. A true testament to the man who raised you.
My deepest, heartfelt sympathy for your loss.
