To the Mercer Family,
My condolences, most sicerely to you in your loss. I will remember Charlie and his family in my prayers. I too worked at 3M in building 201. Charlie was a fine man, a gentleman to be sure. He would greet everyone by their first name as they entered bldg. 201. Little did I know about him except that he was always firm yet polite. A man of great character.

To the Mercer Family, please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of Mr. Mercer. I work with Patt and, over the years, have heard many endearing stories about her Dad. I did not know him, but her loving stories make me wish I had. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Suzanne Ford

To the Mercer Family,
My sincere condolences for the loss of the patriarch of your family. I was 17 when I began working in Bldg 201 at 3M. “Charlie the Guard" as I knew him, was a kind, gentle, loving man, along with being a disciplinarian at 3M. :-) 3M gave their orders and Charlie followed them almost to a T. I lost my dad when I was 15, Charlie was not aware of this, however at this young age he looked after me and without a beat stood up for me if any of the men at 3M did not treat me well. However, when I would forget my 3M pass he would kindly but in a stern voice tell me this was not okay. This was in the early 70s. and 80s, a lot of things have changed at 3M.
Your husband, father, grandpa, great grandpa and friend to all who work at 3M will always hold a grand memory in my heart.
