I'm sorry I did not see this sooner. Prayers and sympathy for the family, especially Charlie and Debbie.

Charlie has been a great friend for over 50 yrs. In the early days I will never forget those Wonderland days when he would always seem to know when the #1 dog would go wide at the turn and open up the race for his selection. His pick didn't always win but more often than not the 1 dog went wide at the turn. Then there was the day we hit a trifecta at Suffolk Downs. Charlie had to work that night at his part time job at Raynhm Dog Track so I went to S Downs to wager $2 on a 2-4-7 trifecta. As luck would have it we won $2200. I called him when I got home but he had already left for work so I left him a msg to call me asap. He arrived home late that night but the next day he opened the newspaper to find out that we had won $2200. This set the stage for a most embarrassing moment. As he told the story he usually sleeps naked and was so excited he forgot and went running downstairs only to be confronted by.....his mother-in-law. Another memory included the time when my kids were little we went to Disney World when Charlie agreed to take care of our dog 'LD'. When we returned we learned that LD had chewed up the surface of his pool table. Charlie never complained. And then there was the fond memories with Jim & Ann, Kathy & Charlie and Paula & I at our favorite waterhole 'My Honey Fitz'. It was something we looked forward to for several years until Kathy became sick. Those were great times. Charlie was such a great friend that when I won a trip for 2 to the Kentucky Derby in the late 90's inviting him to join me was a no brainer. Although we didn't win it was a once in a lifetime experience. A few years later when I needed someone to play Santa for my grandchildren on xmas eve in Billerica it was Charlie who agreed to drive all the way from Hanover to play Santa. In recent yrs I looked forward too meeting him at S Downs on Saturdays and his visit on Sundays to watch baseball & football games. Just a few of memories of a great friend. RIP Charlie.

Charlie was surely A Man For All Seasons. A good friend, steadfast and true. Quick witted, kind and compassionate, Charlie was special in so many ways. Dave and I will always treasure our many wonderful memories of our dear friend Charlie. May he Rest In Peace.

To me you were my cousin Kippy. You teased the heck out of me in my younger years. My Dad, Al Walsh, was so fond of you! I was in junior high when you met Marcia, your first wife. I remember seeing you two together at Gloucester, Mass. Sweet! What wonderful children you raised. Love, Cousin Marsha Andrews, Monterey, Ca.
