In the mid '70s, my Dad and I would start each weekday with breakfast and The CBS Morning News. I have very fond memories of those mornings, and viewing those broadcasts. Charles, Hughes Rudd, Ray Gandolf, and Heywood Hale "Woody" Broun. What a lineup! All solid and informative journalists, who were also unique, multitalented, and delightful characters. In later years, my sister would become a frequent viewer of the CBS Sunday Morning program. Plus, she also listened to Charles on the radio. She, like my Dad and I, became a Charles Osgood fan!

Rest in peace, and thank you, Charles. You will always hold a special place in journalistic history, and with those who appreciated your work and presence.
