He was so many other things as well, especially to you, his beloved family, but through his establishment of so many organizations to help other people, he will always be remembered -- and missed.

Lora, I first met Charlie when I worked for the Church's Conference on Shelter and Housing back in the early 90's. I was so impressed with his passion for affordable housing and his concern for those who lived in substandard and unaffordable housing. He taught me so much. I am so sorry for your loss. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

My dad Ralph was Buddy's cousin. He thought the world of Buddy and his family and always talked about the times spent together. My thoughts are with your family as you grieve the loss of your husband, dad, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend to many.

Lora, I was very saddened to hear of your loss. Charlie was a very good friend in high school. He will surely be missed by everyone who knew him. Peace be with you and your family.

Lora, please know that I have kept Charlie and you in my prayers since I first heard that he was ailing. He is resting from his labors. Some day I hope to tell you how he influenced my life during our high school years. May the Peace of Christ comfort you. Robert Button

As a high school classmate and former friend of Charlie, I think I can speak for all of the Handley Class of "59 when I say he will be missed, but his memory will remain with us.

Lora, My family and I are sadden for the lost of your beloved Charlie. He was a great man who believed that quality housing was not only for the rich, but for everyone. Dorothy, Yvonne, Anthony and I will for ever remember his kindness.

Charlie was a high school classmate, church youth group friend and member, member of the high school band, high jumper, played basketball, and liked by all who knew him. He had an infectious laugh and smile. I will miss you Charlie.
