I never met Charles but have been in awe of his preservation instincts and commitment to British auto enthusiasts. I asked Albert about his legend many times. He cannot be replaced. Thank you Charles Runyan.

We were neighbors of Charles and the family for many years on South Sixth Street. To us, Charles made an extraordinary contribution to Indiana County-building the successful Roaster Factory, the true in every detail Coventry Inn, and the annual British Car show events, which brought visitors and commerce to the community. He was a visionary, think outside the box doer who achieved his goals and made a difference. His life is his legacy. We send appreciation, peace and condolences to Diane and his family.

Our Charles. Once met, never forgotten. What a truly kind, wonderful man he was. The world was a much better place with Charles in it. I was more than fortunate to have spent quality time with my friend over the years. My most sincere condolences to his wonderful family. A man who lived his dream and took lifes ups and downs with grace and dignity. Rest In Peace my friend.

A visionary and a very generous and kind man. He brought so many people together because of a love for old British sports cars. Whenever I visit the Roadster Factory I always feel welcome and appreciated as a customer and friend. I am very sad to hear of this news.

I was so sad to hear of your passing. We became Friends and Partners in Crime working together to have Live Jazz in Indiana.
Thank you for all your support for me, Jeanne Marie and all the other musicians. I hope when you meet up with Simon, you both enjoy some great English Pubs, and listen to some great Jazz. I wish my deepest sympathy to Diane and all the kids. I am sorry I cannot see all your family today at the Coventry Inn, because of my 24 hour ER shift. I will keep you in my prayers!
Your friend,
Dr Mike Stalteri

Thoughts and Prayers with Diane and the children. Charles was a dreamer with great ideas in the Roadster and Coventry Inn. When Charles hired me as his assistant, secretary and bookkeeper at The Coventry Inn, he said he liked to hire from his home area because folks there know how to work hard. His dreams and ability to find those hard workers made his dreams a reality. May his dreams live on in the memories that so many have of working, visiting or patronizing these establishments.

Gayle and I wanted to express our sympathies to Diane and family. We have had many lengthy conversations with Diane and Charles at many of the car shows and summer parties. This was one of the high points for us when attending these events. Their family meant everything to them. Charles was a very thoughtful man and we always looked forward to his newsletter, where he mentioned his children and the Roadster Factory. He was always appreciative of the support and friendship with his customers. We look forward to you carrying on in the Spirit of your Father.

We are saddened by the news. Mr. Runyan you made it possible for us to truly enjoy our British cars with your annual TRF summer parties. We have made several life long friends because of the TRF summer get together. We will always remember and cherish our memories of the summer parties we attended for the last 15 yrs. You will be missed and it is a loss for British car hobbyists. Our condolence to your family.

I only met Charles twice, once at his Roadster Factory where after a complete tour of the works and his cars we shared a most enjoyable evening at his Coventry Inn. I was able to repay some of his hospitality on one of his visits to England. His contribution to the world of Triumph enthusiasts went far beyond his business interests and for many of us on this side of 'the pond' know that we will have lost a true TR man and anglophile. May he rest in peace

Very sad to learn of my cousin's passing. The last time we talked was several years ago, when I visited with my sister, Anne, at The Coventry. Long before that, I remember summer stays at Grandma's, in Six Mile Run, where Aunt Peep sternly policed us from playing poker. Also, the Christmas get togethers at SMR. Maybe I shouldn't say this, but that was when Charles was known among the young Runyan cousins as Butch'. We had some good times. My thoughts to the family and may peace be with you.

We are so saddened to learn of Charles passing. It feels like the loss of an old friend. We always looked forward to his news letters. We met him once at summer party 09 when my husband was awarded a gift certificate for the car needing the most work (we hauled it in on a trailer).
He was such a kind gentleman, and an amazing man. He will be missed by many.

Charles, you lived OUR dream: you made a living out of your hobby. You applied library discipline to automotive replacement parts to the betterment of Triumph and MG enthusiasts the world over. You took our hobby seriously: you attended national events and hosted annual events. It may be cliche, but you WILL be missed.
Albert, we'll continue to support TRF.

Our condolences to your family. We will remember you always.
We will cherish our memories of fun times at TRF parties and VTR conventions with you. You made camping at TRF special and brought us all together with bonfires, a performance by the Skyliners and fireworks.
Thank you Charles for being such an enthusiastic supporter of the British cars we love and helping us keep them running. You will be sorely missed.

Charles was a very special member of the local automotive community. He was a great friend to the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix as he hosted our Countryside Tour each July and sponsored the Western Pennsylvania Triumph Club's British Car Day. Please accept our deepest sympathies from our family of 1,000 volunteers.

Charles.. We are so saddened to hear of your passing and we will miss you. You have been a true friend. Thank you for all the fun times we shared over the last 38 years between your Summer Parties and getting together at the VTR Conventions. A memory we will never forget is perusing the cars in the parking lot with a few other people at the many VTR Conventions until 4 AM. We then went out for breakfast but then needed to be ready for the next event. How did we manage to do that without any sleep? Yes, those were some of the fun times that we will always cherish.
RIP Charles..we will miss you! Our thoughts and prayers to your family at this very difficult time.

P.S. I can't thank you enough to have invited me to be your co-driver on The One Lap of America, 8,000 miles in 8 days in your TR 250. We became very close in those 8 days and we had a blast.
RIP Charles.
