Charlie was a professional icon and resource for me and our collegues for almost three decades. He always had an insightful and authoritative view of any legal issue. I could always have confidence in his opinion. The absence of his good natured presence will be noticed forever.

My late husband Don Mayall & I used to look forward to seeing Claire & Charlie at local San Francisco Early Music Society performances. Chatting with them at intermission was definitely an added benefit! Always so upbeat and charming. I'd met Claire years before that, when I was in PWC. Interesting how music had brought us all together. Claire, my heart goes out.

The news of Charlie's death left me very sad - another good man gone. Charlie and I were colleagues on the Advisory Board of the YWCA so many years ago. We often were professional colleagues as I referred clients to him for trust and estate work because I admired his probity and professional caring, particularly for clients with special needs children. We encountered each other often at various musical events and I appreciated his warm greetings. Charlie was an old-school gentleman, and a dapper one at that. I'll miss him and offer my condolences to Claire.

My deepest condolences to all family.
Charlie was my client. I enjoy working with him.
I enjoyed visiting him and Claire. He came across as a caring and loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a great sense of humor and was easy going. Thank you for sharing his remarkable life story. I will always have great memories of Charlie. I hope these memories will comfort his family during this difficult time. He will be missed.

My condolences on Charlie's passing, Claire. He was a good man, to say the least. I have many wonderful memories of him, both as your partner in PWC and as a supportive mentor retired attorney when I began my law practice in 2007. I am glad that you had many happy years with him. I think I saw you in the audience at St. Mark's, but not Charlie. He would have still been living at that date (12/10) but just barely. I hope to see you again before too long. All my best, Jan Cummins

We knew Charlie through years of trips to the Tahoe area with Claire and other friends. We enjoyed snowshoeing and lots of good conversations with Charlie. He was a man of great integrity and wit. Our thoughts are with Claire and Charlie's family at this time. Barbara and John
