Charles E. Searcy

Searcy, CHARLES E. of Dallas, TX, departed from this life on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at age 87. He was born March 13, 1915 in Lamar, OK and spent his boyhood in Arkansas. He spent four years in the Naval Service during WWII, primarily in the Pacific. Upon his return, he began a long career in sales, mostly in the toy industry. Preceded in death by his brother, James A. Searcy, Houston, TX. Survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Nell Bennett, Monroe, LA; daughter Judy Searcy Dryden and her husband, John, Dallas, TX; son Dr. Steve Searcy and his wife, Rocks Ann, Lafayette, LA; grandchildren Scott Searcy Dryden, New York, NY, Suzanna Dryden, San Francisco, CA, Lindsey and Emily Searcy, both of Lafayette, LA; sister Janelle Shelhamer and her husband, Leroy, Kerrville, TX. Memorial services will be on Friday, August 16, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at Oak Lawn United Methodist Church, 3014 Oak Lawn Ave, Dallas 75219, Rev. Dr. Justin Tull officiating. Private family burial will be at DFW National Cemetery. Charlie will be greatly missed by friends and loved ones. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
