I had the distinct pleasure of serving with Chuck first on the Airport Committee then on the Airport Commission.
Chuck had a profound effect in the early development of our airport making it the people friendly place it is as well as the business success it has been now over 27 years.
Chuck was a pleasure to work with , always level headed with good business sense and pilots knowledge that made him invaluable to the commission.
He will be remembered .

Chuck had this incredible ability to make you feel like a million bucks. His positive attitude, optimistic outlook on life, and priority to put his family first are exemplary. May we all learn from Chuck and continue the wonderful spirit he brought to our lives. He sure did leave an impressive mark. We love you Chuck...always.

Chuck there are no words to express just how much you will be missed. You have been one of the most important and influential people in my life and it has been both an honor and a pleasure to have known you. A man of constant motion, you took Paul and I on so many adventures and as soon as we got back you were already planning the next one. 31 years ago you and Gloria welcomed me into your family and you have always treated me as one of your own. I simply can not imagine our lives without you in it, so I won't. You were a shining beacon for us all and your light will shine forever in my heart!

God speed Chuck, say hi to my Dad and play a game of Hearts for old-time sake :) Your loving daughter (in law), Kath

It's been a while since we've all been together, but I think back to the high school days and what 'cool' parents both Chuck & Gloria were. Billiards in the basement, the limo & sitting in the kitchen with your Mom while she calmly watched the boys waterski in that backyard pool being pulled by one of your motorcycles. Your Dad - always a sparkle in his eyes.
Theresa, Carla, Paul, Mark & George - you were blessed & I'm glad to have been able to share a few of the wonderful memories!

God Bless Chuck (one of the greatest generation). You have to respect the Combact Infantry Badge that he wore. They were awarded to only those that saw the worst that man could deliver.

Chuck touched the lives of so many of us. He served as my role model in work, introducing me to flying, and in life by displaying an ethic that truly balanced all life has to offer.

We looked up to Chuck as a neighborhood dad, even getting disciplined by him when needed, more times than I can remember!

Chuck will live on in our hearts and in his extended family. He'll live on in how we live our lives and how we treat each other.

Godspeed Chuck. We love you

Chuck was probably the most dynamic person I ever knew. Always positive, funny and light hearted. He never missed an opportunity in life whether it be in business or pleasure. I will miss him greatly.

What do you say about the greatest uncle ever. He was always their with a helping hand or word.
Uncle Chuck took me like many others for there 1st plane ride in Needles around 1962 in Needles Ca.
He also counseled me along with my dad (Russ Weart) who was also a piolt at a time when many were being sent to Vietnam to stay in school and not be to hastey to join up.
In years later he helped me move to the bay area and go me my 1st job at the company where he worked. My wife pat and I spent 3 wonderful years in the bay area thanks to Uncle Chuck.
He was always a wonderful mentor and always their for me.He taughtme many valueable lessions that I have used throughout my life.
Uncle Chuck and Aunt Gloria raised 5 outstanding children that are their legacy.
An the best thing of all he and Aunt Gloria took me to the Catholic Church when I visited them and in later years I converted to the Catholic Faith and thank him and Gloria for that exposure.
In closing I want to thank Uncle Chuck for all his passion in everything he did because he was such a great role model to me and everyone he met and he will be truely missed.

I WANT THE FAMILY OF CHUCK TO KNOW HOW MUCH WE LOVED THE OLD GUY. HE WAS EVERYTHING SAID SO FAR ABOUT HIM, AND I AM JUST ADDING A FEW MORE WORDS. MEMORY'S OF ALL THE GOOD TIMES ARE SO NUMEROUS, WITH THE PLANE RIDES TO MEXICO, BOAT RIDES IN THE BAY, CAR RIDES IN ALL HIS CARS, AND LAST MINUTE DINNERS AT OUR HOUSES AND ALL THE OTHER GOOD TIMES THAT I MARVEL AT CHUCKS CONSISTENT GOOD CHEER AT EVERY EVENT. HE REALLY LOVED AND LIKED EVERY ONE HE MET, AND YES HIS LAUGH WAS INFECTUOUS. HIS FAMILY MEANT EVERYTHING TO HIM AND YOU SHOULD ALL BE SO PROUD OF HIM AS HE WAS OF YOU. WE SHALL MISS HIM A LOT, BUT NEVER FORGET HIS IMPACT ON US. ALL OUR LOVE TO YOU HIS FAMILY. ANNIE LAURIE AND LEE SWEENEY

After my Dad passed away 6 years ago, I felt a strong connection to Chuck; sort of a adopted step Dad to me. Chuck was a super cool guy, who I'm proud to have know, although just a few years.

I only had the opportunity to meet Chuck once. He was gracious and full of energy. However, I know one of his sons well and have been to their home many times. Based on the old adage, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, I think I am qualified to say Chuck must have been a fabulous role model both in terms of how to raise and treat your children and how to treat, respect and deal with your friends and neighbors. If the greatest legacy is the ones you leave behind, Chuck 's plane broke the sound barrier!

Chuck was the poster boy of the greatest generation. From storming the beaches in the South Pacific to raising his family in Marin County, you always knew where he stood. He loved people and he loved to play. He was the world’s best role model for balance of work and fun with his family, (both of which he did with ease). So long Charlie, I bet you are truly soaring now. Thank you for everything.

Chuck will be deeply missed by his San Diego family. The Nolan's and the Ybarra's were blessed by his friendship and love of life. When Paul and Kathy were dating and on a river trip with the Ybarra's, who flys in to make our acquaintance?Of course a plane ride soon followed. And I thought, being a UAL stew myself, this is my kind of guy!!Everybody felt that way about Chuck and our families held him in the highest esteem. We will so miss him...Linda Ybarra and Family

As his passing is noted, it is the family he leaves behind that will miss him most. His love and passion for work and family (especially) are what shaped him into the man we all knew and loved. Wherever Chuck went family was usually right there beside him. It was never nearly as much fun unless a whole passelful of kids, adults, animals and others were there to share in his experiences.

He had a passion for flying too, as did my father. I remember once flying up to Idaho Rocky Mountain Ranch with my dad and mom. We knew Chuck, Gloria and some of the kids were flying up too. Well lo and behold as we first started into the Southern end of the Stanley Basin, rolling up and over Galena Summit, dad's radio begins to squawk. "Cessna 9667XRay, I've got you sighted and wonder which one of us will get to the Stanley airport first." It was Chuck on the radio. We all craned our heads around, searching the sky East and South of us. Well Chuck wiggled his wings a bit and we spotted him. It was just his friendly way of saying hello.

As to who got to the airport first, well duh, that's a no-brainer. Dad said Chucks' plane was much faster so he gave way and we followed them in. Actually, I kind of wanted dad to race with him, but ah well, it was just fun to wave back and forth to each other and then buzz the ranch one after the other.

He lived life with passion and would expect the rest of us to continue to do the same.

We all loved Uncle Chuck. He was such a wonderful brother to his sister Marilyn, and an example to us all on how to work hard, play hard, and love your family. He was always there for his sister. She loved him so much. I have so many memories...like uncle Chuck trying to tell jokes. he would crack up before the punch line, many times laughing so hard he would be crying, and all of us would be too. love and will miss you Uncle Chuck.
