Charles St. Hilaire Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 13, 2025.
Charles "Chuck" St. Hilaire, 63, passed away on September 12, 2025, in Dunedin, Florida. Born on January 4, 1962, in Plattsburgh, New York, Chuck lived a life marked by faith, service, and unwavering dedication to those around him.

Chuck earned his bachelor's degree in Biblical counseling from Baptist Bible College, laying the foundation for a life devoted to ministering and caring for others. His deep commitment to his faith in Christ was evident throughout his life. He served as a deacon and elder at Reclamation Church in Monroeville, Pennyslvania and was known for his passion for ministry and community care. After relocating to Florida, he became a member of Building28 Church in Clearwater.

It was Chuck's great honor and purpose to faithfully serve at Worldlink International Ministries for 16 years, where he served as Vice President and Director of Finance. He was an integral part of the organization's leadership team and poured his heart into the mission and people that Worldlink served.

Chuck also served his country with honor as an inventory control supervisor at the Rome military base in New York for four years. His time in the military reflected his sense of duty and discipline-qualities that remained with him throughout his life.

Chuck cherished his family. He is survived by Sheila St. Hilaire, his beloved wife of 44 years; their daughter Christine Block and her husband Trevor along with their children Emma and Reese; their son Ryan St. Hilaire and his wife Jocelyn with their daughter Siobhan; and their son Andrew St. Hilaire. He also leaves behind his brothers Don St. Hilaire, Dave St. Hilaire, and sister Theresa Anson.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Theresa St. Hilaire.

Those who knew Chuck will remember him as a man who deeply loved his Lord and Savior and his life was marked by expressing that love through joy, laughter, and deep care for others. Chuck was looking forward to seeing his Savior face to face and his faith is now realized.

One of Chuck's life verses that carried him through the last 2 years during his difficult cancer battle was "The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you with his love; he will rejoice over you with loud singing" Zephaniah 3:17.

Chuck would want you to know this truth that he believed without a doubt: "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord" Romans 8:38-39.

A Celebration of Life will be held on September 27, 2025, at 10:30 AM at Reclamation Church Monroeville 285 St Martins Drive. A light meal will be provided following the service.

They say that the true test of character is what those closest to the person say about them. It´s also those who are closest to them who will remember that person when they are gone.

I had the privilege of being close to Chuck as his subordinate, colleague, and most importantly his brother in Christ. I would also call him my prayer partner, a voice of wisdom, a friend in times of need, and even someone who could make me laugh.

He was gifted in administration and management. He was very smart and could find an answer for most of the questions you had for him. He was very efficient in his work, but put people first. When asked about something or to solve a problem he would often say "let me take a look." He was encouraging and served others well.

He took great joy in knowing that his work glorified God, showed Christ´s love, and supported our missionary partners to reach the world for Christ.
He now has the joy meeting his Lord in glory and seeing the fruit of his labor in heaven.

I wish all of you had the privilege to meet him and spend as much time together with him as I did. I know that he would want, more than anything else, for you to enter into glory with him. And, while on this earth, serve God and honor him with our lives, which was a legacy he left behind.

To the Family of Brother Chuck,
And to Our Dear Leaders and Partners at WorldLink,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We, your brothers and sisters in Bhutan, write with heavy hearts and deep gratitude as we remember the life and legacy of our beloved Brother Chuck.
Brother Chuck fought the good fight. He finished the race. He kept the faith. The legacy he leaves behind is beautiful-one that will continue to impact countless lives for eternity. We are truly thankful for the love and service he extended to us, his fellow laborers in the nation of Bhutan.
Brother Chuck, you played an important role for us-as a bridge to WorldLink. When we began, we were just seven missionaries in Bhutan. By God´s grace, we will soon be eleven. We are serving in some of the most remote, hostile, and restricted parts of the country-reaching the lost with the gospel so that many more will one day rejoice in our eternal home, standing side by side with you in glory.
As co-laborers in the Kingdom of God, we look forward to that beautiful day when we will all be reunited in His presence. Until then, we continue our labor, encouraged by the example Brother Chuck has set for us.
To the family of Brother Chuck, please accept our heartfelt condolences. We are lifting you up in prayer. May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. May His presence comfort you, and His promises sustain you during this time.
We also pray for the WorldLink ministry-that God will continue to guide and empower all of you for even greater accomplishments in His Kingdom.
With love, prayers, and deep respect,
Bryan and the Team in Bhutan

Beloved family if our brother. I may not have met Chuck in person but his life definitely touched and changed many lives including mine. Because he gave himself and his resources I have been able to advance the course of missions through training in the last three years there are 35 missionaries reaching the nations. May the Lord bless you his wife, children, grand children and the larger family that supported and stood by him while he gave his life to serve his Lord and master. Praying with you during this difficult time.

Here´s a warm condolence message you could send to the family:

---

Condolence Message

We, as a family, received with deep sorrow the news of the passing of our dear brother, who at 62 has gone to be with the Lord. His life was a clear testimony of faithful service and missionary passion. For 16 years, his commitment with WorldLinks left an indelible mark and continues to inspire many. Though we grieve his departure, we rejoice that he now rests in the presence of the Master he served so diligently. We pray that the Lord will comfort you, his family, and grant you strength and peace in this season of loss. His legacy of love, sacrifice, and service to the gospel will not be forgotten.

With heartfelt sympathy,

To family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances of Chuck, receive my deepest condolences all the way from Kenya. As a missionary, am a beneficiary of World link support and am just too glad to know that Chuck served me even without knowing me. He has laboured valiantly even through the long battle with cancer and my family prayed for his healing but our Sovereign Lord has done His perfect purpose to Chuck by calling him to rest. Blessed be His name.
Comfort to all.

I remember a man full of love and gentleness, which is what I felt every time I read his messages. Once chuck had to make the transfer for the support of missionaries in cameroon and it was inconvenient because the bank code was incorrect. But he came back to us with no complaints, and even with suggestions on how to remedy the situation.

I never met Chuck personally but had many conversations with him on the phone while at WorldLink. I felt I knew him because of his care and compassion in his voice and his passion in serving the Lord well in what he did. Well done, faithful servant .... I'll meet you in heaven.

During my years on the Worldlink board, my heart overflowed with gratitude to the Lord for Chuck in three ways: Pure fellowship with a brother in the Lord; his understanding of the finances was so thorough to pinpoint answers; and he was able to keep Jack Nelson in line! Chuck's laughter and smile were contagious! Glad we will pick up our friendship again before God's Throne of Grace.

Chuck was a huge part of my life growing up. We'd hang out at the St Hilaire's house all the time. Chuck was my youth leader, we'd go on camping trips, cookouts, four wheeling in his jeep, I worked at his Christian book store. So many incredible memories. Chuck was the absolute best and he loved the Lord. God bless the family, our prayers are with you.

I was a Jan `03 intern (IYKYK). His daughter Christine was my roommate. He came to town for a visit and I guess I was just standing nearby when he invited me to join them for an outing. We visited a thrift shop and he took us out for lunch. It was such a good time, and many smiles were had. For some reason, I remember he wore this long khaki trench coat. (If I´m not mistaken). Anyway, I´ve thanked Christine for that memory before and while it was the only time I really interacted with her dad, it left a positive mark on me.

Chuck was leader with Sheila of the Community Group we joined at Reclamation. He was continuously a bold witness for the power of the gospel in our lives.
He helped us dive into and understand Scripture in ways that made it active and vibrant in our lines. We were very blessed to know him and take comfort knowing he is right now face-to-face with our Lord Jesus.

I am sharing in your sadness with the loss of Chuck and your Dad...Chuck was so instrumental in my life, and I am indebted when I went through the loss of my husband. Chuck was there.....
I am so blessed to have known him in my indirect family for 14 years...
I have many memories of him with his funny jokes and his love for his three grandchildren. He spent so much time and was very intentional as he played with them, road bikes with them... it was a pleasure to watch. Chuck will be deeply missed by me.
My prayers are with you, Sheila, Christine, Ryan, Andrew, and three beautiful grandchildren.
"Well done good and faithful servant!!!"
