When I was about 25 years old, a friend told me about First Baptist Church of Atlanta. When I went there one Sunday, it was the first time I had heard that you can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by Charles Stanley. I could hardly compose myself and the Holy Spirit took hold of me and has been with me. Jesus Christ has been with me ever since. I have moved many places since then. I came across Charles Stanley daily devotional In Touch Ministries and read them each morning. I am 71 years old and all though the road has been rocky, my loving Jesus Christ has stayed with me and has never let me go. Praise God!

We were "introduced" to Pastor Stanley via his Sunday television broadcast. We listened while preparing to go to church. We learned about faith hope and trust in a loving powerful and reliable God. The one thing that truly changed me was understanding about the security of my salvation. Pastor Stanley became our Pastor. I am sad to see him go yet his legacy lives me with the determination to, "Obey God and leave all the consequences to him."

What a wonderful preacher he was and touched so many lives all over the world. My Great grandmother did not ever drive a car in her life... but when I was 12 years old I would spend every summer with her in Augusta Ga. & We watched him on t.v. all the time and do Bible study with notes. She was born in 1900 and passed January of 2000. He was a Blessing to me and a great leader in Christ as well as a wonderful inspiration to many that did have relationships with our All true Fathers for us that believe...but a great leader to show those of how to believe that didnt know.
May the Lord remain with his family as well as all of those the lord allowed his help to lead to Christ !!
Sincerely,
Capri Hyatt a follower of Christ through his ministries on T.V. since1980.

As a practicing life long Catholic, I have heard many homilies (sermons) from priests and deacons speaking on the word of God. On one Sunday when I could not attend my Sunday church service, I decided to turn on my television to find a Sunday service, and I found "In Touch With Charles Stanley." Wow!! I was so blessed to have such a wonderful servant of God who was filled with the love of God and God's Spirit and the ability to give his church members and those of us, His television viewers, fresh, Holy-Spirit-given messages to all watching. From that first service I saw and heard, I SO greatly enjoyed and praised the Lord for His helping me to have found that broadcast.

Ever since then, I have recommended to others that they watch that dear, faithful pastor and loving-hearted man of God if they could not attend church because I knew they would hear the Gospel of Christ preached and a wonderful sermon delivered by a man who truly loved Jesus Christ and giving the Gospel and the Word of God so faithfully and lovingly. My sincerest condolences go out to all his family members, and his church members and attendees, too, and those who cannot go to church but attended your church via your church's services shown on television broadcasts, too!
Oh, Brothers and Sisters in Christ, and all who have depended on hearing him preach via television broadcasts, too, my heart goes out to you all; and may God give you wise and loving guidance as you seek for the man to lead your church into the next era of your church. . .or until Jesus comes to get His Church, the Body of Christ!! Bless you all in your time of grief, in the coming days/months during your pastor search, and until Jesus comes!! Wow! How I would loved to have seen how Jesus greeted His faithful, loving servant, a great man of God, who entered into heaven and was commended by our Lord Jesus!

May God comfort and bless all of you in your grief and guide you all to a pastor who will be a blessing to your grieving congregation and to the Atlanta and those housebound television and assisted-living home viewers who, like your church members on Sundays, have depended upon a loving, wise, Spirit-filled man to encourage, teach, and spread the Gospel of Jesus and the Word of God. For this I have prayed.

At the lowest point in my life i happened to change the tv channel and Dr Stanley was preaching. I dont recall the message, just that i felt a lot better by the time he finished. I went to his website and watched more of his sermons. Unlike a lot of pastors today, you could just tell that you could trust him and what he was saying, and the messages he was giving. he never talked much about his father, but it was obvious he really loved his mother, and even at his age (would have been in his mid-70's) you could tell he still missed her. But through his sermons, his honestly and down to earth ways, he helped bring me out of dispair, away from thoughts of ending it all, and he, as an instrument of God, got me though the dark tunnel I was in, and got me into the light. He seemed like an over-all good person with messages of hope. I know many of us will miss him terribly. yes he is in Heaven, but we miss him being here with us. God bless you.

My condolences to Dr. Stanley's family, church family and all who loved him. Saddened by the passing of this servant of God. I have been listening to his radio sermons since I was born again in 1991. God used his sermons to cement in my heart to trust in the LORD always. Encouraged me and for a season of time Sundays the TV ministry was my church when I was a struggling single mother with no car and no one would give me a ride to church. Hearing how his mom took care of him as a single parent gave me hope and God did provide for us. Thank you LORD God for your faithful servant that is now in your presence. I will miss him dearly like a spiritual father that helped me grow in the LORD.
