I had the honor of meeting Charles Strouse when I was the Theatrical Booking agent for a National tour of Bye Bye Birdie in 2009. We met at a book signing event he was hosting. I was with the Producer and Director of the show. 1st, the producer was introduced, and then the director. However, before my introduction could be made, Charles Strouse looked at me and announced, "...And you must be Birdie!" I replied:
"No, Sir, but I am going to tell everyone the rest of my life you just said that."
Congratulations on a life well-lived.

I´m sorry that I never met my distant cousin. I intended to, but . . . If you want to do something, just do it ! A very talented person.

Such an incredible composer, he created some amazing songs, especially from "Annie". He was so very deserving of his Tony awards among other credits for his talent. Sincere condolences to the Strouse family. May God be with you all in your time of loss. So very sorry for your loss.

Charles Strouse honored Savannah by coming and "trying out a new play"
with Savannah actors. He and his wife were wonderful guests and we loved having them visit and we learned so much from them! Barbara Murphy
