The world has lost an amazing person. It was a privilage to have known and worked for Charlie. He touched everyones life that he came in contact with. Our sympathy goes out to Asiah, Anita, Lisa and Brian, and Daniel.

Charlie was a loyal and dedicated member of the Western Wood Truss Association. He was such a good friend and mentor of so many of our members. When I joined the Association, Charlie on his own volition undertook to show me the ropes, and continued to help me for the 10 years I have known him. It was such a privilege to work with Charlie on many Association projects. I came to have the utmost respect for his knowledge, skill and patience. Charlie was a professional through and through.
You couldn’t want to know a finer person. We have lost a real hero in this world.

Charlie was not only a great boss and excellent teacher/mentor, but he was a great human being as well. During the years Charlie and I shared the offices upstairs in Langley, we had many conversations on everything from health to recent world events, and we had a lot of laughs as well. It was, indeed, a privilege to know him.
I missed those conversations, and his passing comes as a great shock. I had, at one point, hoped to call Charlie "neighbour" as well as "friend", but alas, that never happened.
Asiah, Lisa and Brian, Anita, and Daniel ... the words "honour", "integrity", and "dignity" are not words one has to use to describe a person, unless that person is Charlie. Note how many others mention these words as well. He will be missed and our prayers are with you.

It is with shock and deep sorrow that we must say goodbye to Charlie. He was a mentor to us all. His kindness, integrity, and ability to simplify the most complex problems, will never be forgotten. Asiah, Lisa, Anita and Daniel, Charlie has touched so many lives, it was a privelege working with him.

As former Manager of Inspections for the District of Maple Ridge I had many dealings with Charlie. He was a thorough Professional Engineer and a wonderful Gentleman to deal with! We will miss his presence. I extend my deepest sympathy to the Chow family.

I have known Charlie and Asiah for over twenty years. Our business relationship grew into a friendship. Charlie was one of those first class, honorable people you could do business with on a handshake. Impecable integrity and dignity even in his final days. No surprise... that was Charlie.

No words can adequately express the sorrow we feel about Charlie's death. He was a man of the highest integrity. He and Asiah were our business partners for 11 years. We consider it a privilege to have been in business with them and to call them our friends. Charlie's death has left a void in our lives that can never be filled. We will remember him always.

I've had the pleasure of working with Charlie the last couple of years. He was a great teacher, always full of knowledge and insight. I'll miss the stories about the good old days and the horror stories of jobs in the past. I wish the family all my deepest sympathies in this hard time.

I am so sorry to hear that Charlie has died, though it sounds as though he left very easily and gracefully. My thoughts are with you all at this sad time.
I have old, fun memories of university days, and card nights at the Clarence St flat in Christchurch, when the loser had to buy the fish and chips!
And fond, more recent memories of my visit to BC 3 years ago when Charlie and Asiah were perfect hosts and showed me the sights, and proudly introduced me to Anita and Daniel.
Charlie, you were such a sweet, selfless man, a loving father to your children, and husband to Asiah, and a friend who will be sadly missed. I am so thankful you didn't suffer long. Rest in peace.
Much love,
Roger Bernabe

Charlie is a great and dear friend. He is a true professional and earned great respect from his engineering peers.
I have known him since 1976 (when he 1st moved to Canada in Ottawa). As I live in eastern Canada, we always get together whenever I am in Vancouver. We shared our personal and professional views and stories.
He is a good friend and a true professional - I will miss him dearly.

I will miss Charlie a great deal. In my early days as a consulting Engineer, Charlie was a teacher and mentor to me.I've always known that I could ask Charlie for good common sense solutions to complex problems. I will find a way to "pay it forward" for Charlie's memory.
