Charlie Lee Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 4, 2025.
Our beloved Charlie Mac Lee, 86, passed away peacefully at home in Menifee, California, on Saturday, March 22, 2025. He lived a full and meaningful life, defined by hard work, dedication to family, and a deep sense of service.

Born in Brundidge, Alabama, Mr. Lee was the eldest child of Matthew Washington Lee and Magnolia Collins Lee. He grew up in Fairfield, Alabama, alongside his siblings-Clarence Lee, James Lee, Joseph Lee, and Lorraine Long-with whom he shared an unbreakable bond. He grew up attending and actively participating in Jones Chapel AME until he graduated from Fairfield Industrial High School and joined the military.

In 1956, Mr. Lee began his military service, proudly serving in the United States Air Force and later in the Navy Reserve. As a Vietnam Veteran, he carried a deep sense of duty and discipline throughout his life and remained connected to the veteran community, often spending time at his local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) post, where he enjoyed camaraderie with fellow servicemen. His former membership as a Freemason further reflected his lifelong commitment to the values of brotherhood, integrity, and service.

As a civilian, Mr. Lee attended College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California, and built a career as a technician in the aerospace and printing industries before venturing into entrepreneurship. He owned and operated Lee Pure Water Systems, Security Copy, and Razel Distributors. He also enjoyed being a pop-up vendor at events like the Long Beach Jazz Festival.

Beyond his professional work, Mr. Lee loved photography, videography, and music, often capturing family moments through his lenses and playing his huge stereo system throughout the house on the weekends. He was also an active presence in his children's lives, coaching their youth football and softball teams. His commitment to family extended beyond the home, as he especially enjoyed attending family reunions and wearing his family reunion shirts, a small but meaningful way he expressed his pride in his roots.

Mr. Lee was known for his quiet strength, resilience, and unwavering sense of responsibility. He had high standards and a strong will. His determination and commitment to doing things the right way were evident in his many pursuits.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jueetta Lee; sons, Charles Lee and Michael Lee; and daughters, Malesha Roberts and Maneesha Jones. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Venesha Lee. He was a proud grandfather to Alesia Pruitt, Isaiah Roberts, Justin Lee, Kristopher "Omar" Russell, and Devyn-Alexa Jones and great-grandfather to Olivia and Oliver Lee.

Mr. Lee also leaves behind generations of nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws, all of whom he cherished.

Interment will be at Los Angeles National Cemetery, with military honors, on April 11 at 11:30 a.m. Please note that flower deliveries are not accepted at the National Cemeteries. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in his honor (https://heroes.vfw.org).
