I enjoyed getting to know Loti as she designed and I fabricated stained glass window for her home. We always had lively discussions and I learned so much from her. Her passing is truly a loss to the community.

She was my 'Aunt Loti' and I have such fond memories of her smile and laugh. She was always interested in what was happening in my life, and she was extremely supportive and encouraging. Next to my bed I have a photo frame that she gave me when my twin daughters were were born, it says; Daughters have a way about them that can fill a heart with love. With a happy smile, a laugh, a tender thought they make our world a delightful place. With wisdom, strength, vitality and grace they dance to life's rhythm. Oh, beautiful daughter, you will keep my heart enchanted forever. I believe the words on this frame came straight from her heart, she loved her daughters fiercely, and I think of her every time I look at it.

I adored my Aunt Loti, she sewed my senior prom dress in 1970 and our flower girl's dress for our wedding in 1973. She was a mentor and confidante in my younger years, greatly influencing me by sharing her love of good books and the French language. When my third son was born, she sent me a beautiful peignoir set instead of a traditional baby gift, to remind me to take care of myself and consider myself a beautiful woman as well as a mother. She was a remarkable woman whom I count as a very unique, special blessing in my life.

I traveled in the same circles as Loti (and Paul) for any number of years as we shared the same passion for opera and classical music. The Vancouver Symphony was the core of our relationship. Nevertheless, I was amazed by her rich and varied background. Now, I only wished that I had known her better. She was a remarkable woman; may she rest in peace.
