Charlotte Freeman Obituary
Born April 16, 1928, in Coudersport, she was the daughter of Everett R. and Marian E. Neefe Blass. On June 18, 1947, in Coudersport, she married Donald M. Freeman, who predeceased her in 1980.
With her husband, she owned and operated a potato farm on Fox Hill from 1947-1981. She owned and operated the Mansfield Video System (cable TV) until her retirement in 1987.
Charlotte was a member of the Ulysses First Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, trustee, and ABW president, Central Grange #1214, Tri-Town Volunteer Fire Co. Auxiliary, Charles Cole Memorial Hospital board of directors, and Order of the Eastern Star in Ulysses, where she was a Past Matron. She also served as president of the Potter County Unit American Cancer Society, Charles Cole Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and Potter County Housing and Redevelopment Authority.
Surviving are three sons, Terry L. (Joan) Freeman of Orlando, Fla., Timothy S. (Debbie) Freeman of Ulysses, and Thomas E. (Brenda) Freeman of Wellsboro; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marjory L. Hawkins of Great Falls, Mont.; a brother, Everett (Rita) Blass Jr. of Coudersport; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Ulysses First Baptist Church. The Rev. Jason K. Reed will officiate. Burial will be in Fox Hill Cemetery, Ulysses.
