Charlotte Herlich Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 19, 2024.
Charlotte Joyce (Ashman) Herlich passed away on February 17, 2024 at the age of 97. Born and raised in Massachusetts, she married Harry Herlich in 1949, and they shared nearly 64 years together until his death in 2013.

Charlotte and Harry lived in Auburn, Alabama for 17 years and had four children. In 1966, the family moved to Maryland. Many years later, retirement took Charlotte and Harry to Florida. Following Harry's death, Charlotte returned to Maryland to be near her family.

Charlotte enjoyed playing and teaching bridge; being involved in community events and causes; local politics and education; and volunteer work, including for hospice care. Charlotte enriched the lives of all who knew her.

Charlotte is survived by her four children who loved her dearly, Myra, Helen (Jim), William (Marie), and Steven (Nancy); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brother, Stanley (Barbara); and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, Ida and Hyman; her brother, Murray; and her sister, Audrey.

A graveside service will be followed by interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a future date where she will be reunited with her beloved husband.

Dear Helen,
I heard about your mom's passing and I wanted to reach out to you and send my condolences. It was so nice of you to come with us on trips. I know your mom really appreciated you coming. She loved going to shows and I am glad that I got to be a part of those special times too! I got your lovely note. It was much appreciated. - Sincerely, Betty Jontiff
