Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 6, 2018.
Charlotte Mae (Lockwood) Litton, 81 years old, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at her home in Woodland Hills, California.
Charlotte was born on May 2, 1936, in Linn, MO to Seigle and Ruth Lockwood. She attended Pointers Creek School (a one room school) for one or two years and then transferred to Linn to finish her schooling, graduating from Linn High School in 1953.
Charlotte was married to Elmer Elwood Litton on April 10, 1954, and they had four children Debbie, Donna, Tammi, and Danny. They lived in Missouri, Florida, Arizona and settled in California in 1963 where she was a homemaker for over 60 years.
Charlotte traveled the world with her husband, visting such places as Europe, Japan, Australia, and Africa. She enjoyed golfing with her husband, gardening, camping, and fishing with her family, but her greatest joy was making handmade gifts for her family and friends. She was very talented in the arts of sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting, and needlework.
Charlotte is survived by her four children Debbie (Bill Williams), Donna (David Vasquez), Tammi (David Wilkins) and Daniel (Nora Litton); grandchildren Kimberly (Mike Mendoza), Billy (Gretchen Williams), Jessica (Rory McIlvenny), Kelley (Tony Orozco), Travis (Nikki Premo), Samantha (Jay Hampton), Mason (Jackie Premo), Davonne Litton, Tali and Adam; great-grandchildren Brett, Brijaye, Brooke, Ashley, Penny, Grace, Zoey, Grayson, Morris, and Elsie; sisters Betty Cavender and Linda (Cary Thompson), brothers-in-law Clifford Litton (Leona) and Arnold Lee Litton (Donna), and sisters-in-law Evelyn Smith (Harold), and Venita Elrod, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Charlotte was predeceased by husband Elmer Elwood Litton, parents Seigle and Ruth Lockwood, brothers-in-law Nelson "Tod" Cavender and Winfred "Wink" Elrod, and sister-in-law Rita Stevens.
A Celebration of Life will be held in California on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm at West Valley Christian Church, 22450 Sherman Way, West Hills, CA 91307.
The family will take Charlotte home to Missouri for her final resting place.
