KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Chauncey E. Cole, age 57, went home to be with the Lord at 6:15 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at The Wexford House.
Born on May 10, 1950, a son of the late Charles Clay and Leona Huffman Cole, he has resided in this area his entire life. Chauncey was of the Baptist faith and was a very appreciative person, who always had a big smile for everyone.
The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Joel Gonce, nurses and staff of the Wexford House Hospice and his special friends who are residents of The Wexford House.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Janice Faye Hunt, Deloris Ann Cole and Judy Noreen Childress.
Survivors include one daughter, Ginny Virginia Jensen of Fargo, N.D.; three grandchildren, Arili, Tanner and Abigail; one brother, Paul "Randy" Cole and wife Martha of Kingsport; four sisters, Linda Hoskins and husband Randy of Bristol Tennessee, Joyce Moore and husband Ron of Blountville, Diana Humphreys of Piney Flats, Tenn., and Michele Davis and husband Joey of Kingsport; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, at East Lawn Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday in the chapel, with Pastor Jeff Strong officiating. Burial will follow graveside services at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Matt Lay, Travis White, Doug Hauk, Joey Davis, Randy Hoskins, Ron Moore, Kevin Bowers, Dustin Goforth and Brian Castle. Honorary pallbearers will be friends.
