Chauncey Hardy Obituary
He was born in Middletown, the son of Ola Hardy of Middletown. Chauncey was a 2006 graduate of Xavier High School and Sacred Heart University. He was currently playing professional basketball for CSS Giurgiu in southern Romania and throughout Europe.
Chauncey will always be remembered for is infectious smile and as a role model for youth.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his two sisters, Onnalise Hardy and Jada Kinsey; his grandmother Ella Hardy; his girlfriend, Alexis Johnson; his aunt Mavis Parker and special aunt, Charlene Greene and her family; his uncles, Lewis Hardy and Charles Parker; as well as a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins and many extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Jerome Byrd.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Cross Street A.M.E. Church, 440 West Street, Middletown. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chauncey Hardy Memorial Fund, c/o Liberty Bank, Attn: Andrea Blackwell, 460 S. Main St., Middletown, CT 06457.

My heart goes out to you over the loss of your son (brother). This senseless act cut short a life that had so much promise. I didn't know Chauncey personally, but I always heard about his ability to excel in sports. My heart ached when I heard the awful news. To the Family and Friends of Chauncey Hardy, there are no words for a time like this except God is in control. I am saddened anytime one of our young people leaves us. However I am happy and very proud that your son set out goals for himself, ACCOMPLISHED those goals at every hurdle and celebrated his latest success.
Chauncey's life serves as an example to other young people to follow their dreams and be determined and undeterred to fulfill them. Accomplishments are a series of Triumphs and Triumphs are a testament of hard work, dedication and determination; add in the love of God, family, and friends to the mix .....and there are no losers.
