CHERI REIMER Obituary

Published by Saskatoon StarPhoenix from Feb. 7 to Feb. 8, 2014.
Cheri Lynn Reimer
Cheri was born May 11, 1978 in Chetwynd, BC to Les and Vivian Ritchie-(Bremner). She lived in Chetwynd with her mom and her brother and sisters for the first few years of her life. The family moved to Entwistle, Alberta when Vivian became ill with cancer. They lived there until Vivian passed away. In May of 1985 Cheri, Raymond, Louise and Janelle moved to Rapid View and became a part of the Ed Green family. Cheri went to elementary school at Green Acre in Rapid View, Junior High at Jonas Samson and High School at Carpenter High School in Meadow Lake, Sask. When Cheri graduated high school she attended Lakeland College in Vermillion for her first year of Early Childhood Education and her second year of the program was completed in Saskatoon at SIAST. Cheri was first employed at the Meadow Lake Day Care and after a few months she moved to Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan where she managed a daycare. On September 30, 2000 Cheri met Trevor Reimer at a friend's home in Buffalo Narrows where they both lived. They fell in love, hard and fast, and were living together by January 2001. From September, 2002, until February 24, 2003, they were forced apart while Trevor attended Depot, the RCMP Training Acadamy. They then moved together to Stony Rapids, SK and shared many great adventures, and made many friends. While in Stony Rapids, Cheri was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. In March of 2005 they transferred to Creighton, SK, and married soon after, on June 24, 2006, the second best day of Cheri's life. Her best day came almost a year later, on May 23, 2007, with the birth of their son, Niklas Zachary Luke Reimer. During this time, they enjoyed sharing their home with Cheri's niece, Ashley Lachance, for about a year and a half. In August of 2009 Cheri and Trevor transferred again, this time to Warman, SK. On February 7, 2010, Cheri tragically lost her cherished sister, Krista Green, and her husband, Brad. Cheri felt this loss greatly, and it led to a painful depression, and anorexia. By November, 2013, Cheri had recovered a great deal, but was still weakened by health problems associated to her diabetes and dental issues. Cheri became ill with an infection from her teeth in January, 2014, that spread to her blood, and then to her lungs. After a heroic battle for her life over more than 2 weeks, and with the help of many dedicated doctors and nurses, Cheri left this world on February 2, 2014, in the ICU at Royal University Hospital. In addition to her husband and son, Cheri is survived by her parents, Ed and Sandra Green, her siblings, Raymond Green, Janelle Duprey, Karla Green, and Louise Green, and their families, as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins, and her grandfather Jim Bremner of Chetwynd, BC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 812 Preston Avenue, Saskatoon, Sk. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Bridge Point for eating disorders. Arrangements are entrusted to MARTENS WARMAN FUNERAL HOME (306-934-4888).

In loving memory of a wonderful person, Cheri Reimer, who left so many loved ones behind. I did not have enough time with her, but feel the loss too. May the memory of the wonderful, loving person that she was help you find peace and strength to go on. Her memory is precious to all who knew her.

Cheri...thank you for always being there for me. I've loved you for as long as I can remember and will continue to do so. Not sure what I'll do without our long heart to heart talks...I can't remember a time when you weren't there to listen whether it be good or bad. Thank you for being you...for being such a wonderful kind caring woman I call not just cousin, but friend. I'll always cherish my memories of you...and I'll never forget. I love you! Somehow all of these words just don't seem adequate to tell the impact you've had in my life....there are no words.
