Cheryl Feldman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 6 to Dec. 7, 2022.
Cheryl (Auerbach) Feldman, passed away following an illness on December 5, 2022. She was born on August 10, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York and was the daughter of the late Lillian and David Auerbach.

Cheryl was a true trailblazer and inspiration for women in the workforce. She graduated with a BA from Brooklyn College in 1955 and later went on to get her MBA from Pace University. She began her distinguished career in the early 1970s working for the Ford Foundation in New York City. She then moved to Lazard Freres & Co. where she worked for many years in the Municipal Finance Department and was ultimately appointed as the first woman partner and Vice President of the firm. She was proud of all of her accomplishments and believed strongly that all women should be treated equally and respectfully in the workplace and beyond.

In addition to her interest in finance, Cheryl was an active and dedicated member of the League of Women Voters of Westchester County and helped spearhead the Running & Winning Program for several years where she inspired and encouraged young women to get involved in politics and serve in public office.

Her passion and expertise for the game of bridge will never be forgotten and she played diligently online up until her final days with her partners and friends. She never liked to miss a game and would let you know that she was unavailable for phone calls or any interruptions for two hours each day.

Cheryl was also known as the family historian as she spent many years researching her family's ancestry. Her enthusiasm for discovery and learning was limitless and through this she inspired others to pursue their own passions.

She will be greatly missed by her beloved daughters, Shawn Feldman and Lauren Roecker (Dave) and her two cherished granddaughters, Samantha Roecker (Jason) and Meagan Roecker. She will also be lovingly remembered by her sister and best friend, Enid Lehr (Dennis) and her dear nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Cheryl's name to:
