Cheryl Savoca Obituary
It is with so much love and sorrow that we say good bye to Cheryl.
Born on October 29, 1958 in Bristol, Connecticut to Dino and Anne Bossi, she graduated from the University of Connecticut and completed her master's degree from the University of Massachusetts. Cheryl was a practicing Family Nurse Practitioner, employed by Pediatrics Plus in North Haven.
Cheryl was an active community volunteer, musician, artist, and health care professional. Above all, she was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. Her biggest loves were her three children, Emily, Ryan and Jake, husband Tom, parents, siblings, nephews and niece.
Arrangements are being handled by Swan Funeral Home, Madison. A memorial mass will be held on Monday, November 19 (2:00 PM) at St. Margaret's Church, Academy Street., Madison CT. The burial will be private.

I went to the service last week. It was amazing. I have a spiritual/inspirational blog I've written for about three years now and I wrote an entry that was published there on Wednesday. Hope no one here minds that I share it:

As I said in the entry:
I really don't expect everyone to be on the same page with me. I don't expect everyone to believe what I do. If what I have to say helps even one person then I've done what I've been sent to do. It's like the saying and the movement:
Pay it forward.
If I help one person and that one person helps someone else the movement will grow exponentially. I hope I've helped one person with my thoughts today.

I had the privilege to have met and worked with Cheryl many years ago at CHCP, and she was truely a dedicated professional, who I really admired. Looking at the photo gallery brought back many memories of a beautiful person and colleague. My heartfelt sympathy goes to her loving family and friends.

Dear Tom:
My heart goes out to you and yor family at this most difficult time. Although I did not know Cheryl, the way you spoke of her and talked about her accomplishments and courage in dealing with her cancer during our racquetball games tells me she was an extraordinary person. I am sure that you feel lucky to have had her in your life, and hope that knowing that you did everyting you could and were there for her helps to deal with your loss and your pain. The photo gallery speaks volumes about all the love and the good times that you and all your family shared together, and I am sure that, over time, these memories will replace the sadness and grief you and the kids are feeling right know and serve as a wonderful legacy to her life and your time together.
Let me know if there is anything I can do for you, and I hope we can get back out on the court at some point. I miss not having you around to beat up on once in a while!

Sending heartfelt condolences to the Savoca family. My children were patients at Pediatrics Plus and I will always remember meeting Cheryl first when I was still pregnant and interviewing pediatricians. She was so kind and gentle to me when I brought my 3 week old son in with a high fever and she calmly sat me down to tell me I had to bring him to the ER. He ended up having viral meningitis. She was a compassionate and caring person who will be greatly missed.

Tom, Aunt Anne, Uncle Dino, all of her children, and all of my cousins, I am so sorry for the loss of Cheryl. Her life was a true example of how all of us should be.
