Chester H. "Bud" Adler Jr., age 71 of Pleasureville, died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013. He was born in Henry County and was the son of the late Chester Adler Sr., and Blanche Baxter Adler. He was a retired butcher for Swift Meat Packing Company where he worked for 29 years and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Preston Adler, Pleasureville; one daughter, Lisa Adler, Eminence; one son, Kevin Glenn Adler (Patricia), Pleasureville; one stepson, Michael J. Watkins, Jasper, Indiana; three stepdaughters: Barbara Spies, Shelbyville; Patricia Adler, Pleasureville; and Stephanie Watkins, Shelbyville; three brothers: Froman Adler, Shelbyville; Hubert Ray Adler, Kansas; Ronnie Adler, Pleasureville; one sister, Viola (Toots) Coleman, Louisville; one foster grandchild, Connor Bohannon; seven step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters: Shirley Barnes and Ruth Bohannon.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at Sholar Funeral Home of Pleasureville. The Rev. Brad Jennings, pastor of Elmburg Baptist Church officiated. Interment was in Defoe Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Bohannon, Albert Duso, Dillon Hall, Kenny Nichols, Matthew Spies and Donnie Taylor.
