Chester Griffin Obituary
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Eunice Bowling Griffin, who survives and the son of Kenneth G. Griffin and Maude Lee Griffin, both deceased. Mr. Griffin was a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from AT&T. He was a loyal member of Davis Street United Methodist Church where he was a choir member and served in many leadership roles through out the years. Mr. Griffin was an avid golfer and at age 81 he shot an 81 and had a hole-in-one. He was a member of the Challenge Senior Men's Travel Golf Group and part time employee of the Challenge Golf Course.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Gray Griffin of Rock Hill, SC, Karen G. Flippin and husband Charles of Greensboro and Kelly G. May of Burlington; son-in-law, Kevin B. May of Elon; and three grandchildren, Reid Flippin, Troy Flippin and Garrett May.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Sammy K. Griffin.
The funeral service will be conducted at Davis Street United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Edgar De Jesus with the family receiving friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park. Other times they will be at the residence.
Memorials may be made to Davis Street United Methodist Church, C/O Methodist Men's Ministry, 606 East Davis Street, Burlington, NC 27215.

So sorry to hear of Chester's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Chester at AT&T. His love for Eunice and his daughters was evident in the way he spoke of them as he shared humorous and happy stories. Chester was always a gentleman in every situation. My sincere condolences to the family. Heaven is just a little sweeter - now that he's there. Rejoice In Paradise, my friend!!
