Chester Stewart 'Chet' Patterson

Chester Stewart 'Chet' Patterson Jr., 80, of Brimfield, died Friday, April 6, 2018, at Altercare of Brimfield. He was born January 15, 1938 in Elwood City, PA to Chester Stewart and Sarah (Clyde) Patterson. He worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for thirty-eight years moving through multiple divisions of racing, then new product research and development, retiring in 2001 as the Manager of Product Analysis. After retiring he became an independent consultant in the area of forensic tire analysis working throughout the country. He participated and supported both school and 4-H youth groups, through sports and equine events. Chet was also involved in the local Farm Bureau and a member of the Carrousel Association. He enjoyed skiing, golfing, playing poker, and spending as much time as possible with his family; through vacations and showing horses, where he was always the man behind the scene making sure everything was running smoothly. He is survived by his son, Mark R. (Lori) Patterson of Findlay; daughter, Debbie (Bruce English) Patterson White of Kent; grandson, John (Courtney) Patterson of Findlay; granddaughters, Mary (Kevin Dills) Patterson of Findlay, Sarah White of Mogadore; sister, Mary Alice Pelkey of Boise, ID. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Patterson. Calling hours will be held 6-8 PM Thursday, April 12 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory in Kent, OH. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM Friday, April 13 at Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Bob Loch officiating. Burial will be held at Church Hill Cemetery in Hubbard, OH.
