Chester Reed Obituary
Amenia - Chester M. Reed, 75, of Amenia, NY, died on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Vassar Brother's Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY. Mr. Reed was a supervisor for the New York City Transit Authority retiring in 1994
Born on September 29, 1938 in Manhattan, NY, he was the son of the late Chester and Helen (Mitchell) Reed. On November 14, 1964 in New York City he married Helen Watson who predeceased him in 2004.
He is survived by his six children, Robert Reed and his wife, Dana, of Clinton Corners, NY, Richard, Paul and Steven Reed all of Amenia, NY, Holly Kristoferson and her husband, Sean, of Wassaic, NY and Joseph Reed of Kingston, NY. He is also survived by two sisters, Carol Cavallo and Trudy Nielson both of Florida and fifteen grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the Hufcut Funeral Home, 3159 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013 at the Immaculate Conception Church, 4 Lavelle Rd., Amenia, NY with Rev. Kent Wilson officiating. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church, 4 Lavelle Rd., Amenia, NY 12501. I am so sorry to hear of Chester's passing. He was a devoted Catholic. I met him after my husband died 6 yes ago. I know he loved his family very much. He loved going to school events for his grandchildren. It was a blessing to have known him. He has received his reward. Seeing the face of Jesus. RIP
