Cheyenne Stewart

Cheyenne Stewart, 60, of South Whitley, died at 11:28 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
He was born June 2, 1956 in Columbia City, a son of Eugene H. "Whitey" and Pat (Cook) Stewart. His formative years were spent in South Whitley and Larwill. He graduated from Whitko High School. He also graduated with a bachelor's degree in engineering from Ivy Tech.
In 1981, he began his employment with Gripco in South Whitley, transferring and most recently working with Stanley Black & Decker in Montpelier.
On Oct. 23, 1981, he was united in marriage to Barbara M. Calhoun. They always made their home in South Whitley.
Cheyenne was also a motorcycle safety instructor for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in Fort Wayne.
His memberships included ABATE, NRA and Indiana Patriot Guard Riders.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Barbara; four sons, Steve Patton, of Silver Lake, Doug Patton, of Columbia City, Jeremiah (Megan) Stewart, of Fort Wayne, and Jason (Lindsey) Stewart, of Stewart, Fla.; six grandchildren, Kaleb Patton, Katlyn Patton, Tyler French, Peyton Eugene Stewart, Joslyn Rose Stewart and Brooklyn Patton; a great-granddaughter, Madelyn Halsey; his step-mother, Alice Stewart, of South Whitley; a sister, Linda Marlowe, of Atlanta, Ga.; and a brother, Larry Stewart, of Missouri.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Christopher Patton.
The funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley, with visitation from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday.
