I am genuinely saddened to hear of Mr. Cannon's death. He was a worthy opponent, non- partisan collaborator and just a witty and decent man. Congress deserves more men of his caliber. My sincere condolences to his family, friends and former staffers.

Chris was a good friend and a fellow attorney in Provo for years before serving in the United States Congress. Later, Chris dedicated many hours of volunteer service to the Utah County Public Defender Association as a member of the Board of Directors. His valuable time, knowledge, experience, and advice is greatly appreciated.

Chris was one of the most approachable friends and colleague I've known. Even if he wasn't in Congress I would still consider him a personal friend. He always had interesting things to share. The loss of his angel Rachel took a toll on Chris but he moved courageously forward. He let the Gospel of Jesus Christ affect his every decision. I'm sure Chris might be a bit frustrated that he can't legislate laws in heaven.

I will truly and deeply miss Chris Cannon. He has left an indelible mark on Utah politics and the lives he has touched. I look forward to long wonderful conversations with Chris in the eternities. Even if Democrats are there.

Rest in peace cowboy

What an honor to call this wonderful, amazing, man my friend. Chris is truly one of the most brilliant, humble men I have ever known. I loved to talk to him for hours. He would get me so excited about whatever he was doing. his excitement was so contagious. My husband and I are so grateful to have known and been friends and neighbors with Chris and Claudia and his wonderful family. We love them all. My kids used to babysit his kids. we have been friends for over 35 years. Many parties and celebrations at their beautiful Mapleton home. Great memories. God has called you home and what a celebration seeing your beautiful Rachel and your parents again. We love you and will miss you so much Chris Til we meet again dear friend!

As one of those magnificent Cannon Family members who inspired me to not only join the Church, but attend J. Reuben Clark School of Law, I loved Chris like a brother and clerked for him at the Provo firm of Park Robinson. He was an extraordinarily humble yet brilliant man, then the country needed his wisdom and honest nature so Chris Cannon went to Washington.
All the while he was emotionally, physically, socially, and spiritually supported by his better half, his gifted spouse, Claudia Fox Cannon, whom I cherished as a sister. Each of their fabulous children became superstars, with Rachael being the first to grace the heavens.
Seeing firsthand how loving and intelligent his Mom was and what grand ambitions his Father held for his children as they each modeled their dedication to the Church and each remained "...close to the Lord" until their respective passings. Each of Chris´s siblings are and were exceptional people. One round of the Dictionary Game we played at holidays would be sufficient to convince anyone.
My heart is broken as Claudia and the children and grandchildren mourn his passing. Nothing but the grace and comfort of the Holy Spirit of God can lighten that devastating loss. But as a friend I want to hug each of you and remind you he´s only a momentary thought and sweet memory away. To Christopher Black Cannon my dear friend, God´s Speed!
Much love always, Jane Reiser, Esq.

Chris was a dear friend! We first met as we both become advisors for Maverick Angels. We spent hours discussing business strategy often over lunch. He had a brilliant mind, high emotional IQ, and a deep love for our country. Most of all, Chris was a good man! RIP Chris!.
