Mrs. Marano,
I wanted to sign the guest book in honor of Chris. I was able to serve with him on board the USS NIMITZ. He was a great guy and definatley a leader...I did not surprise me he became a DPS officer. the 2005 Wespac is still a blur but I remember when he came to our division. Im a ABE and was in the Bow. He was always very serious and wanted to go security at all times.

I hope all is well and you found closure today.

Today when I met the Family at the DPS Headquarters in Phoenix (memorial), they shared with Me that Officer Chris Marano was baptized 2 months prior to his passing. We agreed that He is in a much better place "Heaven". And that is reassuring to know that we that are right with God, will get to see our Family members again in Paridise. May God's Blessing and protection be own the Family. God is faithfull

I didn't know Chris, but I travel to Phoenix about once a week. I heard about his accident, and immediately made a contribution to his memorial fund. I know how much this hurts. I lost my dad to the line of duty when I was only 5 1/2 yrs. old. I proudly wear his blue bracelet on my wrist and will always have his family in my thoughts and prayers.

I met Chris many years ago while doing martial arts in Minnesota. I knew him as a very loving man, who deeply cared for his family and friends. He had good soul and will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
I too am now a part of a law enforcement family here in Minnesota, as I work closely with a police department and am dating one of the officers here. No words can express the feelings that are shared among the law enforcement community when one of their members' lives is taken away. Chris was taken away from his friends and family all too soon. He will be deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers to out to you and your family. May he rest in peace!

I'm police officer in Belgium, but I would like to let to the his familly that I'm so very sorry to hear of Chris's death. I want you to know that my thoughts are with you. It's always very sad for me to know that one brother in blue has been fallen. I keep always all police officers felt in my mind. Please accept my sincere sympathy. I am very sorry that Chris is no longer with you.
No doubt his sudden passing has been very disturbing for you and for the many other people who knew and cared for him. I am thinking of you and them in this time of loss and bereavement.
With sympathy,

P.S.: Be indulgent with my English, I speak I speak French!

I met Chris on the USS Nimitz during my first deployment, 2005. He was such a fantastic person. Always there when I needed someone to talk to, someone to show me around Hong Kong, someone to make me laugh. He was well respected as a military police officer and excelled at every task he was given. He is the first person who I know on a personal level who has passed, and I know that he is still watching over his beautiful wife Shelly, who I am lucky to know, and their gorgeous daughters. Rest in peace my brother in arms; my friend.

Hi Shelly-although I have not met you , I attended the services with my husband who is a fellow DPS officer. It was the first police funeral I have been to and I wanted to tell you that despite the tradegy and horror of what happened, your pastor that conducted the service did such a great job of shedding light and hope and found the good in this bad situation. I am a fellow Christ follower and have to tell you that this event has left a mark on my heart forever. As the wife of a fellow DPS officer, it is always our fear but knowing that you and Chris were saved and knew Christ was so inspiring and you have no idea how many seeds were planted in that sea of officers that attended his funeral! May God be with you more closely than ever and your family. I look forward to meeting you someday soon. The fact that you were able to stand and speak at the funeral was a miracle! I don't think I could have been half as strong. Thank you so much for sharing your testimony and Chris's through the words of your pastor and the photos-I bawled when I saw your baptism pictures and even get tears in my eyes thinking about it today.

As a survivor of a father who was killed in the line of duty when I was 5 1/2 yrs. old, it always hits home when an officer looses his/her life in the line of duty. I did not know officer Marano personally, but being raised by law enforcement officers, I always have family to anyone that wears a shield. I understand what it all means. I therefore have made a donation in his honor and proudly wear the blue wristband that holds his name and badge number. May he be joined by his brothers and sisters in heaven. From my heart.

I never knew Officer Marano personally, but i do know he was part of an elite organization that put their lives on the line to keep arizona safe.
I had a very vivid example of this a few years back when Officer Bob Varners life was ended on interstate 40
not even a mile from my house. Bob had been a lawman for over twenty years retiring from navajo county sheriffs dept. and going to work for Department of Public Safety.
I salute you Officer Marano for your courage and sacrifice in helping keep our state safe.
To your family, i offer my most sincere
condolences and prayers.
My prayers are with you daily, may all of your dreams come true
